Impact of Hysteroscopic Polypectomy on IVF Outcomes in Women with Unexplained Infertility.

To assess the effect of hysteroscopic polypectomy on the in vitro fertilization (IVF) results in infertile women with at least one prior negative IVF outcome. This retrospective cohort study included women who had attended the "2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens" and "Iaso" Maternity Hospital from October 2019 to January 2023 for infertility treatment. The medical records of 345 women aged 18-45 years old without abnormal findings in hysterosalpingography (HSG) and with at least one previous failed IVF procedure were analyzed.

Introduction: Isolated ruptures of the vastus lateralis (VL) tendon are exceptionally rare, with few reported cases in the orthopedic literature. Giant Lipoma in the Index Finger of a 60-Year-Old Patient: A Rare Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Introduction: Lipomas are the most common benign mesenchymal tumors found on the head, neck, shoulder, and back, but they are rarely encountered in the fingers, constituting <1% of such tumors.

Coronoid fractures and complex elbow instability: current concepts.

Fractures of the coronoid process typically occur as part of more complex injury patterns, such as terrible triads, trans-olecranon fracture-dislocations, posteromedial rotatory injuries or Monteggia-like lesions. Each pattern is associated with a specific type of coronoid fracture with regard to shape and size and specific soft-tissue lesions. O' Driscoll classification incorporates those associations identifying three major types of fractures: tip, anteromedial facet, and basal fractures.

Case Report on Botulinum Toxin Treatment for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in a Digit Reconstruction.

To evaluate subcutaneous Botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) efficacy in alleviating severe allodynia in complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) type II post-digit reconstruction. After surgical debridement and flap reconstruction for post-traumatic necrosis, a CRPS type II patient received subcutaneous BTX-A. Assessments tracked symptom changes and daily life improvements.

Alterations of the Adipo-Myokine Irisin in Sepsis and Septic Shock: Diagnostic and Prognostic Implications.

Irisin, a novel adipo-myokine with metabolic regulatory functions, exerts anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-apoptotic actions that may confer protection against sepsis-induced organ injury in experimental studies. Until now, only one human study has explored circulating irisin at sepsis onset. We aimed to examine serum irisin and its kinetics in critically ill patients with sepsis and septic shock with regard to sepsis severity and outcome.

Patella Fracture After Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Review.

The management and underlying causes of patellar periprosthetic fractures (PPF) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) constitute an issue of growing importance given the rising frequency of these procedures. Patella periprosthetic fractures, though relatively rare, pose significant challenges and are a frequent indication for revision surgeries. Despite a decrease in overall incidence, PPFs remain the second most common type of periprosthetic fractures after TKA.

The Interplay Between Dietary Choline and Cardiometabolic Disorders: A Review of Current Evidence.

Purpose Of Review: Choline is an essential nutrient for human health and cellular homeostasis as it is necessary for the synthesis of lipid cell membranes, lipoproteins, and the synthesis of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. The aim of this review is to analyze the beneficial effects of choline and its significance in cellular metabolism and various inflammatory pathways, such as the inflammasome. We will discuss the significance of dietary choline in cardiometabolic disorders, such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), cardiovascular disease (CVD), and chronic kidney disease (CKD) as well as in cognitive function and associated neuropsychiatric disorders.

Objectives: Oral carcinoma cuniculatum (OCC) is a rare variant of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). It has similar clinicopathological characteristics to SCC and verrucous carcinoma (VC). We present a case series of OCC and analyse its unique features, diagnosis, and management.

Objective: To assess the economic burden of moderate to severe osteoarthritis (OA) management for patients and the health care system in Greece.

Design: A noninterventional, cross-sectional, prospective, epidemiological analysis of data from the medical records of patients with moderate to severe OA, recruited in a single visit from 9 sites in Greece. Outcomes included health care resource use (direct/indirect costs) associated with this patient population.

Therapeutic inertia in rhythm control strategies in hospitalized patients with fibrillation: Insights from Hellenic Cardiorenal Morbidity Snapshot (HECMOS) study.

Background: Current guidelines recommend a rhythm control strategy in patients with symptomatic atrial fibrillation (AF) while catheter ablation has been shown to be a safer and more efficacious approach than antiarrhythmic medications.

Methods: HECMOS was a nationwide snapshot survey of cardiorenal morbidity in hospitalized cardiology patients. In this sub-study, we included 276 cases who had a history of AF, particularly on the rhythm strategy, and catheter ablation procedures had been performed before the index admission.

 The dorsal intercarpal ligament (DIC) is an elegant dorsal stabilizer of the proximal carpal row, including the scaphoid's proximal pole and scapholunate joint. Along with the dorsal radiocarpal (DRC) ligament, it acts as a dorsal radioscaphoid stabilizer, with dynamism due to its ability to modify its length up to threefold by changing the angles between its V-shaped bundle morphology. The DIC ligament consistently originates from the dorsal tubercle of the triquetrum on the ulnar side.
