Despite standardization of multimodal treatment and approval of several targeted drugs for resectable, non-metastatic cancer (M0 patients), intrinsic and acquired resistance and relapse rates remain high, even in early-stage aggressive tumors. Genome analysis could overcome these unmet needs. Our comprehensive review underlines the controversy on stable or spatiotemporally evolving clones as well as promising yet inconclusive data on genome-based biomarkers and drug development.

Introduction: The extent of lymph node dissection (LND) and its potential survival benefit are still a matter of debate. Aim of our review was to summarize the latest literature data regarding the surgical templates, the potential oncological benefits, the functional outcomes and the complications of extended lymph node dissection (eLND) during robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP).
Evidence Acquisition: We systematically reviewed all relevant studies using PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, American Urological Association (AUA), European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) and European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines.

The management of gestational ovarian cancer can be challenging because of the risk of fetal wastage, and the possibility of treatment-related complications to the fetus; it is based on insufficient data from retrospective studies and case series. Here, a literature review of the diagnostic and surgical approaches to the gestational ovarian cancer has been performed; moreover, data on safety of chemotherapeutic treatments in pregnancy, including both oncologic and fetal outcomes, have also been reviewed. Up to now, 193 cases of ovarian cancers during pregnancy have been reported in the English literature.

Natural disasters such as tsunami, hurricanes, and earthquakes may have a negative impact on cardiac health. The aim of our systematic review is to evaluate the impact of earthquakes on the incidence of acute coronary syndromes and cardiac mortality and to examine the impact of the time of earthquakes on the incidence of acute coronary syndromes. MEDLINE and Cochrane databases were searched for studies assessing the impact of earthquakes on acute coronary syndromes from inception until December 20, 2017.

Background: Neurolytic celiac plexus block (NCPB) is an effective method of palliative pain control. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of the laparoscopic NCPB versus open approach.
Methods: Eight patients (Group A) underwent diagnostic laparoscopy which revealed an inoperable pancreatic cancer.
Ranolazine is a new medication for the treatment of refractory angina. However, except its anti-anginal properties, it has been found to act as an anti-arrhythmic. The aim of our systematic review is to present the existing data about the impact of ranolazine in ventricular arrhythmias.

Non-epithelial ovarian cancers (NEOC) constitute a group of uncommon malignancies and their treatment is still a challenging task. Collectively, these tumours account for about 10% of all ovarian cancers and occur in all age groups from childhood to old-age. They include malignancies of germ cell origin, sex cord-stromal cell origin, and a variety of extremely rare ovarian cancers, such as small-cell carcinomas and sarcomas.

The prognosis of primary liver cancer (PLC) remains poor and is explained by the slow progress in understanding the molecular pathways driving tumorigenesis, therapeutic resistance and relapse. For early PLCs, complete surgical resection is the only effective treatment, with sorafenib and, more recently, regorafenib prolonging overall survival by a few months. Areas covered: Application of next-generation sequencing (NGS), including targeted NGS (tNGS), whole-exome sequencing (WES), whole-genome sequencing (WGS) and RNA sequencing (RNAseq), on clinical samples from patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) could aid in comprehending tumorigenesis, genetic and genomic heterogeneity, as well as developing molecular classifications for specialized targeted therapy.

Introduction: To retrospectively assess the role of whole-lesion apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) in the characterization of breast tumors by comparing different histogram metrics.
Methods: 49 patients with 53 breast lesions underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). ADC histogram parameters, including the mean, mode, 10th/50th/90th percentile, skewness, kurtosis, and entropy ADCs, were derived for the whole-lesion volume in each patient.

Personalized medicine has made some major advances in colorectal cancer, but new biomarkers still remain a hot issue as an emerging tool with potential prognostic and therapeutic potential. We investigated for SLCO1B3 gene alterations and protein expression in colorectal cancer, using the novel high-resolution melting analysis technique and immunohistochemistry. Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tumor samples from 30 colorectal cancer patients were used.

Objective: We examined trans-radial approach (TRA) use in coronary angiographies (CAs) as well as in percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) in specific regions of Greece, its distribution in public and private catheterization laboratories (CLs) and its preference by operators. Reliable data regarding the use of TRA are not available in Greece.
Methods: The study was performed in northern and central Greece, which constitutes 35.

Background: Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer affecting women worldwide. Despite advances in screening and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination, a significant number of women present with or develop advanced disease. Palliative platinum-based chemotherapy (CT) is the standard first-line treatment for metastatic/recurrent cervical cancer.

OBJECTIVE Congenital hydrocephalus (CH) is one of the most frequent CNS congenital malformations, representing an entity with serious pathological consequences. Although several studies have previously assessed child-related risk factors associated with CH development, there is a gap of knowledge on maternal environmental risk factors related to CH. The authors have systematically assessed extrinsic factors in the maternal environment that potentially confer an increased risk of CH development.
