Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate the motor, kinetotherapeutic, and psychological benefits of three aquatic therapeutic programs-aquagym recovery (AG), aquatic ludotherapy (ALT), and therapeutic swimming (TS)-for students specializing in balneo-physio-kinetotherapy.
Methods: The study group consisted of 101 students, out of which 43 students from the balneo-physiokinetotherapy study program (BFKT) and 67 master's degree students from physical therapy and functional rehabilitation (PTFR). The questionnaire was named Questionnaire regarding the benefits of therapeutic aquatic programs (QBTAP), and included 3 subscales according to the typology of the targeted objectives, namely: motor, kinetotherapeutic and psychological.

The primary objective of this study was to identify preoperative factors that could be associated with positive resection margins. We also tried to analyze the local recurrence and overall survival in patients who received conservative treatment for early-stage breast cancer and correlate these parameters with preoperative factors. A retrospective examination was conducted on the medical records and pathological reports of 143 patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery (BCS) for breast cancer in our department from 2009 to 2017.

Cervical cancer has been and still is a major global health problem and a major treatment challenge for which surgical interventions have played a key role throughout the past century. In early stages (I/A2-II/B), where high-risk factors are not present, the efficacy of surgical and radiotherapy treatment has been considered equivalent with different (treatment modality specific) complications and quality of life consequences. Negative prognostic factors in early stages of the disease (pelvic lymph-node positivity) and in more advanced stages (parametrial and/or surgical margins' tumor involvement) forecast the deterioration of outlooks for good life expectancy.

Aims: Compared to heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction, HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), and HF with mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF) are increasing in prevalence, yet little is known about the geographic variation in patient characteristics, treatments and outcomes among these two HF phenotypes. The aim of this study was to investigate geographic differences in HFpEF and HFmrEF.
Methods And Results: We conducted an individual patient analysis of five clinical trials enrolling patients with HFpEF or HFmrEF from North America (NA), Latin America (LA), Western Europe (WE), Central/Eastern Europe and Russia (CEER), and Asia-Pacific (AP).

The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of implementing a basketball-specific exercise program using Fitlight technology on the coordinative abilities (reactive coordination, reactive reaction time, and reactive movement combination capacity) of U14 and U16 junior basketball players. This study included 70 male basketball players, 36 subjects U14 and 34 subjects U16, divided into two equal groups for each age category: the experimental group (EG) and the control group (CG). This study included an initial and a final test, between which, training was conducted over a period of 18 weeks.

Introduction: Artificial intelligence (AI) is computer-generated intelligence, as opposed to the natural intelligence of humans and some animals. Kaplan and Haenlein define AI as "the ability of a system to correctly interpret external data, to learn from such data and use what it has learned to achieve specific goals and tasks through a flexible adaptation". The term "artificial intelligence" is used colloquially to describe machines that mimic the "cognitive" functions that people associate with other human minds.

With multimorbidity on the rise, adverse cutaneous drug reactions are becoming a daily challenge in clinical practice. The objective evaluation of the skin lesion is crucial but hardly realized due to missing technology and guidelines. In this study, the novel Dermus SkinScanner-U, an optically guided high-frequency ultrasound imaging device, was evaluated regarding its comparability with the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) and the pharmacological analysis of the patients' drug therapy.

Background: The advent of new therapeutic agents and the improvement of supporting care might change the management of acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC) and avoid colectomy.
Aims: To evaluate the colectomy-free survival and safety of a third-line treatment in patients with ASUC refractory to intravenous steroids and who failed either infliximab or ciclosporin.
Methods: Multicentre retrospective cohort study of patients with ASUC refractory to intravenous steroids who had failed infliximab or ciclosporin and received a third-line treatment during the same hospitalisation.

Background: Peripheral nerve injuries (PNIs) represent a significant clinical problem, and standard approaches to nerve repair have limitations. Recent breakthroughs in 3D printing and stem cell technologies offer a promising solution for nerve regeneration. The main purpose of this study was to examine the biomechanical characteristics in muscle tissue distal to a nerve defect in a murine model of peripheral nerve regeneration from physiological stress to failure.

The increasing importance of treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), while avoiding side effects and maintaining sexual function, has allowed for the development of minimally invasive surgical therapies (MISTs). Recently, the European Association of Urology guidelines reported a paradigm shift from the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) to the management of nonneurogenic male LUTS. The aim of the present review was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the most commonly used MISTs: ablative techniques such as aquablation, prostatic artery embolization, water vapor energy, and transperineal prostate laser ablation, and nonablative techniques such as prostatic urethral lift and temporarily implanted nitinol device (iTIND).

An oro-antral communication represents an abnormal connection between the oral cavity and the maxillary sinus. It occurs most often after tooth extractions, improper implant placement or incorrect management of the sinus lifts. Surgical repair is challenging and most practitioners usually choose the buccal advancement flap, the palatal flap and in some cases the buccal fat pad flap to close the defect.

Background: How patient characteristics and outcomes vary according to the duration of heart failure (HF) is unknown in individuals with mildly reduced or preserved ejection fraction. We compared these, and the efficacy and safety of dapagliflozin, according to the time from diagnosis of HF in a prespecified analysis of the DELIVER trial (Dapagliflozin Evaluation to Improve the Lives of Patients With Preserved Ejection Fraction Heart Failure).
Methods: HF duration was categorized as ≤6 months, >6 to 12 months, >1 to 2 years, >2 to 5 years, or >5 years.

Real-world data and real-world evidence (RWE) are becoming more important for healthcare decision making and health technology assessment. We aimed to propose solutions to overcome barriers preventing Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries from using RWE generated in Western Europe. To achieve this, following a scoping review and a webinar, the most important barriers were selected through a survey.

Background And Aim: Malnutrition-induced sarcopenia predicts poorer clinical outcomes for patients with cancer. Postoperative complications such as wound infection, anastomotic leak (AL), cardiorespiratory events are the most frequent and devastating postoperative complications in colorectal cancer surgery and are frequently associated with malnutrition.
Methods: We reviewed the recent available literature to assess the relationship between the patient nutritional status and sarcopenia in colorectal surgery.

Interstitial fluid (ISF) from brain drains along the basement membranes of capillaries and arteries as Intramural Periarterial Drainage (IPAD); failure of IPAD results in cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA). In this study, we test the hypothesis that IPAD fails after subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH). The rat SAH model was established using endovascular perforation method.
