Purpose: The iliac veins are the least frequent location for venous aneurysms, with only a few cases described globally. The etiology and clinical presentation of this extremely rare entity is diverse and unclear and no treatment consensus has been reached yet. Our purpose is to present an interesting iliac vein aneurysm (IVA) case that we treated in our department, with a brief review of the literature.

Introduction: Anatomical preservation and functional integrity of the facial nerve (FN) are the main concerns of parotid surgery. Material And Methods: The EANS Neuro-oncology Section panel developed an online survey asking questions regarding criteria for expertise in neuro-oncological surgery and sent it to all individual EANS members.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs), small non-coding RNA molecules, have emerged as substantial contributors in AFib pathophysiology, by affecting those pathways.

Can Routine Investigation for Occult Pulmonary Embolism Be Justified in Patients with Deep Vein Thrombosis?

Purpose: This study aims to investigate whether routine screening for silent pulmonary embolism (PE) can be justified in patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of 201 patients with lower-extremity DVT admitted to the vascular surgery department of a single tertiary university center between 2019 and 2023. All patients underwent clinical evaluation, basic laboratory exams, a whole-leg colored duplex ultrasound, and a computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA), to screen for an occult, underlying PE.

Surgical Treatment of Congenital Kyphosis in Children: Report of a Rare Complication of Remote Cerebellar Haemorrhage.

Congenital deformities of the spine lead to an imbalance in the longitudinal growth of the spine. These growth abnormalities may lead to three main patterns of deformity: scoliosis (the most common), kyphosis or lordosis (the least common). Despite the recent improvements in imaging and the routine use of neuromonitoring in the surgical treatment of congenital kyphosis, this surgery may be associated with a high rate of complications such as neurologic deficit, pulmonary thromboembolic events, infection, deep vein thrombosis, implant failure, and dural injury.

Limbal reconstruction in uveitic glaucoma patient with exposed Ahmed valve coincident with corneal melting and iris prolapse using multiple corneoscleral allografts.

To present a complex case of Ahmed tube exposure 6 months after the implantation associated with corneal melting and iris prolapse, and the surgical reposition that required multiple allografts and limbal reconstruction. A 60-year-old patient arrived at the emergency room with tube exposure combined with corneal melting and iris prolapse from a previously placed Ahmed valve 6 months prior. Our approach was to use one corneoscleral graft to repair the melted cornea and avoid further iris prolapse and a second scleral graft to cover the repositioned tube.
