Non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSC) form the majority of skin cancers, with basal cell carcinoma (BCC) being the most common and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) being second. Prolonged ultraviolet (UV) exposure, aging, male gender, and immunosuppression represent most of the causes of this category of diseases. BCCs and cSCCs both include different types of skin cancers, such as nodular or morpheaform BCC or flat cSCC.

Revisiting the "Timed Up and Go" test: a 12-s cut-off can predict Hospitalization Associated Functional Decline in older adults.

Early detection of functional decline, a major risk among hospitalized older adults, can facilitate interventions that could significantly reduce it. We aimed to examine the contribution of the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test in predicting Hospitalization Associated Functional Decline (HAFD) among older adults, able to independently ambulate before admission. We used a cross-sectional study design; a total of 310 older adults (age ≥ 65) hospitalized in internal medicine wards between December 2018 and August 2020 were included; exclusion criteria were inability to ambulate, a diagnosis restricting mobility, hospitalization for end-of-life care, or impaired cognition.

Insights into Central Congenital Hypothyroidism: A Multicenter Retrospective Analysis.

Context: Central congenital hypothyroidism (CCH) is a thyroid hormone deficiency at birth caused by inadequate pituitary stimulation of the thyroid gland. Although primary CH has been studied extensively, studies on CCH are sparse.

Background: The safety and efficacy of treatment with P2Y12 adenosine-diphosphate receptor inhibitors (P2Y12-RI) before coronary angiography among patients with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndromes (NSTEACS) are questionable.

Aims: To assess the pretreatment rate with P2Y12-RI and its association with ischemic and bleeding risks among patients with NSTEACS.

Methods: The study comprised patients with NSTEACS referred for coronary angiography and included in the Acute Coronary Syndrome Israeli Surveys between 2013 and 2021.

Vaginal Progesterone for Pregnancy Prolongation After Arrested Preterm Labor: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Importance: Women with arrested preterm labor (APTL) are at very high risk for spontaneous preterm delivery (SPTD), the leading cause of neonatal mortality and morbidity. To date, no maintenance therapy has been found to be effective for pregnancy prolongation. A few clinical trials with considerable methodological limitations have demonstrated some efficacy for 400 mg vaginal micronized progesterone (VMP) in women with APTL.

Background: Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) demonstrate a heterogeneous sensorimotor, emotional, and cognitive profile. Studies in other populations presented these three comorbid dysfunctions in the context of vestibular hypofunction.

Purpose Of Review: Over 300 000 hospital admissions in the United States each year are due to patients with upper gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding (UGIB). Common etiologies of nonvariceal UGIB include peptic ulcers, mucosal erosions of the esophagus, stomach or duodenum, Mallory-Weiss tears, Dieulafoy lesions, upper GI tract malignancy, or other etiology.

Recent Findings: Peptic ulcers classified as Forrest Ia, Ib, or IIa require endoscopic hemostasis, while IIb ulcers may be considered for endoscopic clot removal with endoscopic treatment of any underlying major stigmata.

Objective: The number of pediatric trauma patients requiring surgical interventions has been steadily decreasing allowing for a judicious approach to immediately available resources. Methods: A retrospective cohort study of data included in the Israeli National Trauma Registry from January 1, 2011, through December 31, 2020, was conducted.
