Predictors of mortality for patients with hip fracture: a study of the nationwide 1-year records of 24,950 fractures in Romania.

Unlabelled: We conducted a study evaluating incidence rates and influencing factors in Romanian hip fracture patients. Our results showed that the type of fracture and its respective surgical procedure as well as hospital characteristics correlate with mortality. Updated incidences can result in updated treatment guidelines.

THE INFLUENCE OF ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM ON WOMEN REPRODUCTION.

A special attention must be paid to the phytocannabinoids, natural components originating especially from the Cannabis plant inflorescences, whose medical effects are well-established nowadays with also acting on the receptors of the endocannabinoid system.

Introduction: Studies regarding antibiotics administration during pregnancy and atopic dermatitis (AD) in children are only few. In this context, the objective of our study was to investigate the potential association between the timing of intrauterine exposure to antibiotics or prenatal antibiotic administration in general and AD occurrence in children.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study in 1046 subjects.

Three-dimensional anatomy of the transantral intraseptal infraorbital canal with the use of cone-beam computed tomography.

The transantral or ectopic infraorbital canal (IOC) courses diagonally through the maxillary sinus (MS), thereby being exposed to risk during a number of surgical procedures. A few prior reports have presented evidence of a septa-embedded IOC, albeit only on single-plane slices. We identified this extremely rare variation of the IOC during a retrospective study of the cone-beam computed tomography files of 2 patients.

The disease affects both genders and any age group although the distribution depending on gender is controversial and that depending on age has a bimodal pattern.

Considerations regarding current diagnosis and prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Hepatocellular carcinoma is a major health issue, ranked the fifth most common tumor and currently being responsible for a third of the cancer-related deaths globally, with an ever-increasing number of fatalities. Current advances in contrast-enhanced imaging techniques such as contrast-enhanced ultrasonography, multi-detector computed tomography and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging are improving the rate of hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis. Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography has widely become the first choice in liver tumor assessment, as it is faster, simpler and safer than other forms of diagnostic imaging.
