Background & Aims: Patients in the intensive care unit are experiencing an increased malnutrition risk. The NUTrition Risk in the Critically ill score (NUTRIC) is a validated tool for the identification of patients that will benefit the most, from nutritional intervention. The aim of the study was twofold, including: 1) to translate and adapt the NUTRIC score in the Greek language for more efficient and comprehensive use among clinicians, and 2) to assess its prognostic performance in a pilot sample.

Introduction: Hydatid cysts most commonly present in the liver and the lungs; however, they can appear more rarely in other locations, such as the mesentery, with a rather unclear mechanism of manifestation. Herein, we present a case of simultaneous presence of hydatid cysts in the liver and the mesentery of a young man.

Background: Cutaneous melanoma is known for its aggressive tendency for metastasis, most commonly to lymph nodes, lung, liver, and brain.

Case Report: We present the case of an 80-year-old male, with a history of cutaneous melanoma, found to have biopsy-proven metastatic melanoma deposits in the sigmoid colon. This rare case was initially thought to be a walled-off perforation secondary to diverticulitis.

Management of a young female patient with Fournier's gangrene and Lemierre's syndrome.

Fournier's gangrene is an acute, rapidly progressive, and potentially fatal, infective necrotizing fasciitis affecting the external genitalia, perineal or perianal regions. Lemierre's syndrome is a condition characterized by thrombophlebitis of the internal jugular vein and bacteremia caused by primarily anaerobic organisms, following a recent oropharyngeal infection. Although the literature about either of them is rich, there is no report about co-appearance of the two syndromes.

The present case is one of gallstone obstructive ileus due to gallstones 3 yr after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. It is interesting because of the sex of the patient, the fact that ileus occurred 3 yr after cholecystectomy and that the localization of the obstruction was an old side-to-side ileoileal anastomosis due to a diverticulectomy following intussusception of Meckels' diverticulum at the age of 3.

This case report concerns a previously healthy thirty-five-year-old female with complaints of inguinal hernia that ultimately proved to be a retroperitoneal haematoma.
