Interventional radiology, and particularly interventional oncology, represents one of the medical subspecialties in which technological advancements and innovations play an utterly fundamental role. Artificial intelligence, consisting of big data analysis and feature extrapolation through computational algorithms for disease diagnosis and treatment response evaluation, is nowadays playing an increasingly important role in various healthcare fields and applications, from diagnosis to treatment response prediction. One of the fields which greatly benefits from artificial intelligence is interventional oncology.

The Oculomotor Cistern and Its Role in the Management of Pituitary Lesions: An Anatomical, Radiographic, and Clinical Scoping Review.

Background: The oculomotor cistern (OMC) is a cerebrospinal fluid space bound by meningeal layers that surrounds the oculomotor nerve as it crosses the oculomotor triangle to reach the lateral wall of the cavernous sinus at the level of the anterior clinoid process. Although several anatomical and radiological studies are available, its anatomy and relationship with pituitary adenomas (PAs) are still matter of discussion.

Objective: The aim of the study is to provide an updated and focused overview of the OMC, highlighting the different perspectives and descriptions from anatomical, radiological, and clinical points of view.

Real-Life Experience in the Management of Sinonasal Complications of Dental Disease or Treatments.

Diagnosis and management of sinonasal complications of dental diseases or treatment (SCDDT) may be challenging. We aimed to report our real-life experience in patients treated with endoscopic endonasal approach describing data about symptoms, etiology, extension of the disease and success rate. We evaluated retrospectively data about 262 patients diagnosed as SCDDT and managed from August 2015 to May 2022.

Cross-Cultural Validation of the Short Version of the Questionnaire of Olfactory Disorders-Negative Statements into Italian: Towards Personalized Patient Care.

Given the high burden of olfactory dysfunction worldwide, recently increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is mandatory to adopt a specific questionnaire to assess the impact of olfactory impairment on quality of life, to be used in clinical practice. The aim of this study is to adapt and validate the short version of the Questionnaire of Olfactory Disorders-Negative Statements (svQOD-NS) for Italian. In the pilot phase, the Italian version of the questionnaire (ITA-svQOD-NS) was produced following recommended guidelines.

Unravelling the Complex Relationship between Diet and Nephrolithiasis: The Role of Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics.

Nephrolithiasis is an increasingly prevalent condition, especially in high income countries, and is associated with high morbidity. Extraordinary progress in genetics made the identification of genetic forms of nephrolithiasis possible. These genetic diseases are usually rare and do not account for the most common forms of nephrolithiasis that are the result of several factors such as environment, dietary habits, and predisposing genes.

Management of the first episode of traumatic patellar dislocation: an international survey.

Purpose: This international survey aimed to evaluate the potential controversies regarding the management of first patellar dislocation amongst experienced knee surgeries in the treatment of the first episode of patellar dislocation without osteochondral fragments.

Methods: An online survey was conducted from February 2021 to December 2021 to assess the global trend in the diagnosis and management of first-time patellar dislocation without osteochondral fragments. The online survey was accessible on the homepage of the website of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA).

Comparison of reflectance confocal microscopy and line-field optical coherence tomography for the identification of keratinocyte skin tumours.

Background: Reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) and line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT) are non-invasive imaging devices that can help in the clinical diagnosis of actinic keratosis (AK) and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). No studies are available on the comparison between these two technologies for the identification of the different features of keratinocyte skin tumours.

Proposal for a Structured Outpatient Clinic for Dupilumab Treatment in Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps in the First Year of Treatment.

Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a common disease of the nose and paranasal sinuses with important economic and sanitary burdens, as well as having a great impact on patients' quality of life. In this field, a new therapeutic approach for those patients who have been described as affected by severe uncontrolled CRSwNP, resistant to medical and best surgical treatment, is represented by subcutaneous human monoclonal antibodies (including dupilumab) that block specific targets involved in the type 2 inflammatory pathway which most commonly drives CRSwNP pathophysiology. This paper aims to report our experience in the management of severe uncontrolled CRSwNP and, in particular, describe our diagnostic workup including baseline evaluation and follow-up visits in the first year of treatment.

The Thomson ISIWeb of Science was searched with the following search terms: "shoulder arthroplasty", "shoulder replacement", "shoulder prosthesis" and "shoulder implant". All papers dealing with SA, including its perioperative and postoperative management, were included in this study.

Mepolizumab Improves Outcomes of Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps in Severe Asthmatic Patients: A Multicentric Real-Life Study.

Objective: The upcoming introduction of mepolizumab represents a promising treatment for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mepolizumab on sinonasal outcomes of comorbid CRSwNP and severe asthma in a real-life setting. The primary endpoint was to evaluate changes in the SinoNasal Outcome Test (SNOT)-22 score, Nasal Polyp (NP) score, and blood eosinophil count during a 12-month treatment with mepolizumab.

Popliteomeniscal fascicles tears with lateral meniscus instability: outcomes of arthroscopic surgical technique at mid-term follow-up.

Purpose: The popliteomeniscal fascicles (PMFs) are a crucial part of the posterolateral corner of the knee. They provide stability to the lateral meniscus and stabilize the joint during tibial internal rotation. The clinical diagnosis of a torn PMFs is difficult, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may be inconclusive as well.

Introduction: Grown in the worldwide population of over 50 of age individuals who remain in good health and continue to engage in sports has led to an increase of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears in this aged population. ACL reconstruction was reserved for young and active athletes, but seems to produce good outcomes also in over 50s.

Purpose: To compare the patient-reported functional scores, arthrometric outcomes, and complications of primary ACL reconstruction between older (>50 years) and younger (<50 years) patients.

Calprotectin in nasal secretion: a new biomarker of non-type 2 inflammation in CRSwNP.

Objective: We analysed calprotectin in sinonasal secretions of different chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) endotypes to assess its role as a biomarker of non-type 2 inflammation.

Methods: We included primary diffuse CRSwNP patients (n = 41) and three different control groups [non-allergic rhinitis (NAR) (n = 13), non-allergic eosinophilic syndrome (NARES) (n = 10) and healthy subjects (n = 12)]. Personalized Management of Patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps in Clinical Practice: A Multidisciplinary Consensus Statement.

Effectiveness of Dupilumab in the Treatment of Patients with Severe Uncontrolled CRSwNP: A "Real-Life" Observational Study in the First Year of Treatment.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of dupilumab in the treatment of severe uncontrolled Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP), with or without asthma as add-on therapy with intra-nasal corticosteroids in a real-life setting over the first year of treatment. Our data demonstrated that subcutaneous 300 mg dupilumab administered at home via a pre-filled auto-injector every two weeks, based on indications set by the Italian Medicines Agency, was rapidly effective in reducing the size of polyps, decreasing symptoms of disease, improving quality of life, and recovering olfaction. Significant improvement was observed after only 15 days of treatment, and it progressively increased at 6 and 12 months.

Elective Neck Dissection during Salvage Total Laryngectomy: Personal Experience.

The role of elective neck dissection during salvage surgery in patients with a clinically negative neck (cN0) is still discussed. The main objective of this work was to estimate the prevalence and predictive factors of occult neck nodes metastasis; we therefore aimed to evaluate the survival rate and the main oncologic outcomes of cN0 patients who underwent salvage total laryngectomy and elective bilateral neck dissection. In this retrospective observational study, we enrolled 80 cN0 patients affected by recurrent laryngeal cancer and who underwent salvage total laryngectomy and bilateral selective elective neck dissection.
