Background: Short mindfulness-based interventions have gained traction in research due to their positive impact on well-being, cognition, and clinical symptoms across various settings. However, these short-term trainings are viewed as preliminary steps within a more extensive transformative path, presumably leading to long-lasting trait changes. Despite this, little is still known about the brain correlates of these meditation traits.

Introduction: Axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterised by inflammatory low back pain. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are recommended as a first treatment in axSpA. In case of inadequate response to NSAIDs, biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) should be introduced according to the recommendations of the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) and the American College of Rheumatology.

Objective: Stroke is the leading cause of death and disability. Timely differentiation between ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, and stroke mimics is critical for tailored treatment and triage. To accelerate the identification of stroke's subtype, we propose to use the levels of circulating tPA as a biomarker.

Background: Pencil Beam Scanning proton therapy has many advantages from a therapeutic point of view, but raises technical constraints in terms of treatment verification. The treatment relies on a large number of planned pencil beams (PB) (up to thousands), whose delivery is divided in several low-intensity pulses delivered a high frequency (1 kHz in this study).
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a three-dimensional quality assurance system allowing to verify all the PBs' characteristics (position, energy, intensity in terms of delivered monitor unit-MU) of patient treatment plans on a pulse-by-pulse or a PB-by-PB basis.

Background: In oncology, the suffering of patients and the burnout of health professionals are key issues. Mindfulness meditation is a holistic approach that can help to improve well-being. While numerous studies have shown the benefits of meditation for both patients and health professionals, the added value of offering shared meditation to groups of patients, health professionals and third persons has not been assessed.

The decline of antibiotics efficacy worldwide has recently reached a critical point urging for the development of new strategies to regain upper hand on multidrug resistant bacterial strains. In this context, the raise of photodynamic therapy (PDT), initially based on organic photosensitizers (PS) and more recently on organometallic PS, offers promising perspectives. Many PS exert their biological effects through the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) able to freely diffuse into and to kill surrounding bacteria.

Introduction: Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) is a peptide secreted by pituitary gland that plays an important role in regulating cortisol secretion. Its determination is difficult because of instability in whole blood. Several factors that influence ACTH stability in blood before analysis have been identified: temperature, hemolysis, time to centrifugation and presence of protease inhibitors.

High temperature superconductors (HTSs) are enablers of extensive electrification for aircraft propulsion. Indeed, if used in electrical machines, HTS materials can drastically improve their performance in terms of the power-to-weight ratio. Among the different topologies of superconducting electrical machines, a flux modulation machine based on HTS bulks is of interest for its compactness and light weight.

Introduction: Predict running performances is very important for athletes and trainers. Sport researchers have therefore developed certain tools to predict running performances, but only in non-obstacle races. This study aimed to develop and test the validity and accuracy of an equation for predicting 3,000-m steeplechase performance ( ).

Like other volume electron microscopy approaches, automated tape-collecting ultramicrotomy (ATUM) enables imaging of serial sections deposited on thick plastic tapes by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). ATUM is unique in enabling hierarchical imaging and thus efficient screening for target structures, as needed for correlative light and electron microscopy. However, SEM of sections on tape can only access the section surface, thereby limiting the axial resolution to the typical size of cellular vesicles with an order of magnitude lower than the acquired xy resolution.
