The adoption of pultruded glass fibre-reinforced polymer (pGFRP) composites as a substitute for traditional wooden cross-arms in high transmission towers represents a relatively novel approach. These materials were selected for their high strength-to-weight ratio and lightweight properties. Despite various studies focusing on structures improvement, there still have a significant gap in understanding the deformation characteristics of full-scale cross-arms under actual operational loads.

We demonstrate that fundamental nonlinear localized modes can exist in the Chen-Lee-Liu equation modified by several parity-time (PT) symmetric complex potentials. The explicit formula of analytical solitons is derived from the physically interesting Scarf-II potential, and families of spatial solitons in internal modes are numerically captured under the optical lattice potential. By the spectral analysis of linear stability, we observe that these bright solitons can remain stable across a broad scope of potential parameters, despite the breaking of the corresponding linear PT-symmetric phases.

Magnetoelectric properties and Morin type spin transitions of Na-doped GaFeO.

J Phys Condens Matter

January 2025

Department of Physics, University of Kerala, Karyavattom 695581, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

The effects of Na doping on the structure magnetic, electric, and magnetoelectric properties of GaFeOwere studied. Rietveld refinement of the XRD data reveals the formation of a single-phase trigonal structure with no impurity on Na doping up to 50% and a significant increase in lattice strain with doping. FTIR and Raman analysis further supported the phase purity of the samples.

Computational prediction of novel two-dimensional tungsten nitride superconductors.

J Phys Condens Matter

Transition metal nitrides are well-known 3D superconductor materials. However, there is a lack of knowledge related to their two-dimensional (2D) counterparts, which have several potential technological applications. In this work, we predict, using an evolutionary algorithm coupled with a first-principles approach, a set of novel 2D superconductive structures based on tungsten nitride.
