A thiazole-based probe, '-((2-aminothiazol-5-yl)methylene)benzohydrazide (), has been efficiently synthesized and characterized for the selective and sensitive detection of the neurotransmitter epinephrine (EP). The sensing strategy is based on the use of for sequential colorimetric sensing of Ag and EP via in situ formation of Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs) from the -Ag complex. The generated Ag NPs lead to a bathochromic shift in absorption maximum and a change in color of the solution from light brown to reddish brown.

The spleen, traditionally associated with blood filtration and immune surveillance, has recently been recognized for its role in systemic lipid metabolism and potential influence on cancer development and progression. This study investigates effects of dietary supplements, specifically conjugated linolenic acids from pomegranate seed oil and bitter melon extract, on the fatty acid (FA) composition of the spleen in the context of cancerous processes. Advanced methods, including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and silver ion-impregnated high-performance liquid chromatography, were employed to analyze the spleen's FA profile.

Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a chronic health condition affecting the sinonasal cavity. CRS-associated mucosal inflammation leads to sinonasal epithelial cell death and epithelial cell barrier disruption, which may result in recurrent bacterial infections and biofilm formation. For patients who fail medical management and elect endoscopic sinus surgery for disease control, bacterial biofilm formation is particularly detrimental, as it reduces the efficacy of surgical intervention.

In this paper, an enzyme-free and label-free fluorescent nanomodule is proposed for rapid, simple and sensitive detection of Ag, Hg and tetracycline (TC). The strategy is cleverly designed to enable multiple-purpose detection with as little as 31 nt of ssDNA. Both the embedded dye SYBR Green I and the nanomaterial graphene oxide (GO) are able to distinguish single-stranded DNA from double-stranded DNA; thus, the combination of the two instead of using traditional molecular beacon (MB)-labeled fluorophores and quencher groups can effectively reduce the cost of experiments while efficiently reducing the background noise.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are novel compounds used as antimicrobial and antiviral agents. In addition, AgNPs have been used to improve the growth of different plants, as well as the in vitro multiplication of plant material. In this work the effect of AgNPs on in vitro growth of 'Canino' and 'Mirlo Rojo' cultivars, as well as the leaf ion composition, are studied.
