Nonlocal Huygens' meta-lens for high-quality-factor spin-multiplexing imaging.

Combining bright-field and edge-enhanced imaging affords an effective avenue for extracting complex morphological information from objects, which is particularly beneficial for biological imaging. Multiplexing meta-lenses present promising candidates for achieving this functionality. However, current multiplexing meta-lenses lack spectral modulation, and crosstalk between different wavelengths hampers the imaging quality, especially for biological samples requiring precise wavelength specificity.

Integrating metasurfaces on-chip offers a promising strategy for modulating and extracting guided waves, suggesting tremendous applications in compact wearable devices. However, despite the full acquisition of on-chip manipulation of optical parameters, including phase, amplitude, and polarization, the functionality of on-chip metasurfaces remains limited by the lack of wavelength selectivity. Here, an on-chip approach to differentiate wavelength components is proposed in the visible regime for wavelength division multiplexing (WDM).

This study presents the design, synthesis, and evaluation of a novel series of coumarin-based compounds (9a-t) as potential anticancer agents. The compounds were strategically designed to inhibit cancer-related carbonic anhydrase (CA) isoforms IX and XII and tubulin polymerization. Two approaches were employed for CA inhibition: utilizing the coumarin motif to occlude the CA active site entrance and incorporating zinc-binding groups (sulfonamide, carboxylic acid, and thiol) to interact with the catalytic zinc ion.

The central amygdaloid nucleus (CeA) and the lateral habenular nucleus (LHb) are essential nuclei playing modulatory roles in encoding noxious stimuli. Their interaction has recently been demonstrated in chronic pain-induced depression. However, little is known about the CeA-LHb pathway in a formalin-induced pain model.

Chronic unpredictable stress exposure disrupts testicular function by modulating germ cell-junctional dynamics and Nrf2/HO-1/IKKβ/NF-κB pathway.

The unpredictable nature of stress complicates understanding its relationship with male infertility. In this study, we investigated testicular germ cell and junctional dynamics in male mice following exposure to chronic unpredictable stress (CUS). Adult Parkes male mice were exposed to CUS for 35 days (one complete spermatogenic cycle), with a random stressor (restraint stress, water deprivation, food deprivation, light flashing, wet bedding, cage shaking, or cage tilting) applied once per day in an intermittent and unpredictable manner to avoid repeating the same stimulus on consecutive days.
