Micro- and nanomorphological modification and roughening of titanium implant surfaces can enhance osseointegration; however, the optimal morphology remains unclear. Laser processing of implant surfaces has demonstrated significant potential due to its precision, controllability, and environmental friendliness. Femtosecond lasers, through precise optimization of processing parameters, can modify the surface of any solid material to generate micro- and nanomorphologies of varying scales and roughness.

Background: Equine odontoclastic tooth resorption and hypercementosis (EOTRH) is a painful disorder primarily affecting the incisor teeth of horses over 15 years of age. Clinical signs of the disease include prehension problems, halitosis and in severe cases weight loss. The coffee-ring effect, caused by uneven deposition of colloidal particles in perovskite precursor solutions, leads to poor uniformity in perovskite films prepared through large-area printing. In this work, the surface of SnO is roughened to construct a Wenzel model, successfully achieving a super-hydrophilic interface. This modification significantly accelerates the spreading of the perovskite precursor solution, reducing the response delay time of perovskite colloidal particles during the printing process.

Microplastics (MPs) are prevalent in wastewater treatment systems, and their behavior is further complicated after undergoing aging processes. This study explored the impact of original and aged polyvinyl chloride (PVC) MPs on wastewater treatment performance and bacterial communities. Results revealed that Fenton-aging treatment induced surface roughening of the MPs and altered their chemical properties.
