A universal strategy for smoothing deceleration in deep graph neural networks.

Neural Netw

Graph neural networks (GNNs) have shown great promise in modeling graph-structured data, but the over-smoothing problem restricts their effectiveness in deep layers. Two key weaknesses of existing research on deep GNN models are: (1) ignoring the beneficial aspects of intra-class smoothing while focusing solely on reducing inter-class smoothing, and (2) inefficient computation of residual weights that neglect the influence of neighboring nodes' distributions. To address these weaknesses, we propose a novel Smoothing Deceleration (SD) strategy to reduce the smoothing speed rate of nodes as information propagates between layers, thereby mitigating over-smoothing.

S-nitrosylation (SNO) modification, a nitric oxide (NO)-mediated post-translational modification (PTM) of proteins, plays an important role in protein microstructure, degradation, activity, and stability. Due to the presence of reducing agents, the SNO modification process mediated by NO derivatives is often reversible and unstable. This reversible transformation between SNO modification and denitrification often influences the structure, activity, and function of proteins.

There and Back Again: Mapping and Factorizing Cosmological Observables.

Phys Rev Lett

November 2024

Cosmology, Gravity and Astroparticle Physics Group, Center for Theoretical Physics of the Universe, Institute for Basic Science, Daejeon 34126, Korea.

Cosmological correlators encode invaluable information about the wave function of the primordial Universe. In this Letter we present a duality between correlators and wave function coefficients that is valid to all orders in the loop expansion and manifests itself as a Z_{4} symmetry. To demonstrate the power of the duality, we derive a correlator-to-correlator factorization formula for the parity-odd part of cosmological correlators that relates n-point observables to lower-point ones via a series of diagrammatic cuts.

Duality Constraints on Thermal Spectra of 3D Conformal Field Theories and 4D Quasinormal Modes.

Phys Rev Lett

November 2024

Higgs Centre for Theoretical Physics, University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh EH8 9YL, Scotland.

Thermal spectra of correlation functions in holographic 3D large-N conformal field theories (CFTs) correspond to quasinormal modes of classical gravity and other fields in asymptotically anti-de Sitter black hole spacetimes. Using general properties of such spectra along with constraints imposed by the S duality (or the particle-vortex duality), we derive a spectral duality relation that all such spectra must obey. Its form is universal and relates infinite products over QNMs with bulk algebraically special frequencies.

Noninvertible symmetries of quantum field theories and many-body systems generalize the concept of symmetries by allowing noninvertible operations in addition to more ordinary invertible ones described by groups. The aim of this Letter is to point out that these noninvertible symmetries act on local operators by quantum operations, i.e.
