A spin valve represents a well-established device concept in magnetic memory technologies, whose functionality is determined by electron transmission, controlled by the relative alignment of magnetic moments of the two ferromagnetic layers. Recently, the advent of valleytronics has conceptualized a valley spin valve (VSV)─a device that utilizes the valley degree of freedom and spin-valley locking to achieve a similar valve effect without relying on magnetism. In this study, we propose a nonvolatile VSV (-VSV) based on a two-dimensional (2D) ferroelectric semiconductor where resistance of -VSV is controlled by a ferroelectric domain wall between two uniformly polarized domains.

Dangerous rock masses in mountainous areas seriously threaten the construction and operation of engineering with potential disaster hazards, especially the unpredictability and sudden occurrence of rockfall, which poses a huge challenge. This paper presents a systematic risk assessment and disposal of high and steep giant dangerous rock masses, which can pose a serious threat to railway operation. Using comprehensive methods such as on-site investigation, limit equilibrium method, and simulation analysis of rockfall trajectory, the possibility and potential harm of collapse and rockfall of giant dangerous rock masses are analyzed and corresponding remediation measures are proposed.

The alignment of permanent dipole moments and the resulting spontaneous orientation polarization (SOP) are commonly observed in evaporated neat films of polar organic molecules and lead to a so-called giant surface potential. In the case of mixed films, often enhanced molecular orientation is observed, i.e.

Rabies virus (RABV) generates membrane-less liquid organelles (Negri bodies) in the cytoplasm of its host cell, where genome transcription and replication and nucleocapsid assembly take place, but the mechanisms of their assembly and maturation remain to be explained. An essential component of the viral RNA synthesizing machine, the phosphoprotein (P), acts as a scaffold protein for the assembly of these condensates. This intrinsically disordered protein forms star-shaped dimers with N-terminal negatively charged flexible arms and C-terminal globular domains exhibiting a large dipole moment.

Half-metallic materials are widely used as spintronic devices such as electrodes, magnetic tunneling junction, and giant magnetoresistance. In this work, we have systematically investigated the structural stability, Gilbert damping, electronic structure, and magnetism together with exchange interactions and Curie temperatures for MnTaAl and MnWAl alloys. Initially, we estimate their structural stability and offer possible phase synthesis.
