We have previously found that the presence of an H-type excitonic dimer formed by two fluorophores covalently bound to an oligonucleotide allows the delivery of such a polymer into live cells without inducing toxicity. We are now using time-resolved fluorescence measurements in solution to understand the molecular dynamics of an antisense probe and how pairing with complementary sense strands of various lengths and degrees of complementarity affects the antisense strand's properties. We report that a DNA strand composed of 30 residues and labeled with an H-type excitonic Cyanine-5/Cyanine-5 dimer shows a predominant 1.

The reaction of aqueous suspensions of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) with UV-excited sodium hypochlorite has previously been reported to be an efficient route for doping nanotubes with oxygen atoms. We have investigated how this reaction system is affected by pH level, dissolved O content, and radical scavengers and traps. Products were characterized with near-IR fluorescence, Raman, and XPS spectroscopy.

1,4-Azaborine-based arenes are promising electroluminescent emitters with thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), offering narrow emission spectra and high quantum yields due to a multi-resonance (MR) effect. However, their practical application is constrained by their limited operational stability. This study investigates the degradation mechanism of MR-TADF molecules.

Sulfamethoxazole (SMX) and its antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) are potential threats to public health. Microwave catalytic technology is an efficient environmental remediation technology, and a reasonable design of the catalyst enables the system to achieve an ideal remediation effect under low microwave power. In this study, a microwave catalyst (FeCO-2) that activates molecular oxygen (O) was designed on the basis of rational theoretical organization.

Traditional desalination methods face criticism due to high energy requirements and inadequate trace ion removal, whereas natural light-driven ion pumps offer superior efficiency. Current synthetic systems are constrained by short exciton lifetimes, which limit their ability to generate sufficient electric fields for effective ion pumping. We introduce an innovative approach utilizing covalent-organic framework membranes that enhance light absorption and reduce charge recombination through vertical gradient protonation of imine linkages during acid-catalyzed liquid-liquid interfacial polymerization.
