Bladeless wind turbines face operational limitations due to the lock-in phenomenon. This study introduces two novel mechanisms for designing bladeless wind turbines to address this issue, enabling operation across a broad wind speed range from 2 to 10 m/s while ensuring that lock-in conditions are satisfied at any wind speed within this range. The study aims to maintain optimal performance without any decline that is observed in conventional bladeless wind turbines by controlling the turbine's natural frequency through implementing these mechanisms, either by adjusting the effective length of the stand or by incorporating an additional mass in the hollow mast, or both.

In this paper, a microwave thermal imaging system (MTIS) has been presented for debonding detection of radar absorbing materials (RAMs). First, an overview of the mechanism underlying microwave heating and the fundamental principle of defect detection within RAMs is presented. Then, a multifunctional MTIS capable of performing both microwave lock-in thermography (MLIT) and long-pulse microwave thermography (LPMT) has been introduced, specifically tailored for the in situ inspection of RAMs.

As the foundation and cornerstone of the digital economy, digital infrastructure construction is an indispensable engine for realizing China's energy-saving and emission-reduction, innovation-driven and low-carbon transformation and development. Investigating the carbon unlocking effect of digital infrastructure construction might hasten the achievement of the dual-carbon goal and the "win-win" scenario of environmental protection and economic growth. However, there is still a gap between whether and how digital infrastructure construction can break the carbon lock-in (CLI).

Lock-in amplifiers are instrumental in the precise measurement of extremely small AC signals within high-noise environments. Traditionally, noise reduction in these instruments relies on infinite impulse response (IIR) filters, which can necessitate prolonged settling times to ensure the acquisition of accurate, statistically independent data. While moving average filters offer faster settling times, their non-monotonic frequency response may not be optimal for noise reduction.

This study investigates the drought of three major terminal lakes: Great Salt Lake, Salton Sea, and Lake Urmia, driven by socio-hydrological lock-in-a phenomenon characterized by feedback loops between human activities and environmental processes. Previous research has linked this drying to socio-hydrological lock-in, where rational actions by individuals collectively lead to suboptimal outcomes, exacerbating water scarcity and ecological degradation. Despite existing studies, a critical knowledge gap remains in understanding how these feedback mechanisms operate across different socio-economic and ecological contexts.
