Investigation of Betaine and Vaccine Efficacy for Coccidiosis Prevention in Broilers.

Acta Parasitol

January 2025

Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Aydin Adnan Menderes University, Aydin, Turkey.

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the anticoccidial effects of betaine and a vaccine compared to monensin sodium in experimentally induced coccidiosis in broiler chickens.

Methods: 600 day-old broiler chickens (Ross 308) were randomly assigned to five groups, each with four replicates of 30 birds. While the control group received a basal diet, two experimental groups received basal diet supplemented with either 100 mg/kg monensin sodium or 2.

Urbanization and infrastructure projects generate huge amount of construction and demolition waste (CDW), posing significant challenges for the environment and human health. In order to reduce the environment and safety risks caused by the CDW landfills, this study was amid to utilize plant roots to develop a root-CDW-soil system for strengthening the CDW and enhancing the slope stability of CDW landfills. A series of experimental analyses were conducted, focusing on shear tests of root-soil composites under various moisture conditions and root content ratios.

A Microfabrication Technique for High-Performance Diffractive Optical Elements Tailored for Numerical Simulation.

Nanomaterials (Basel)

January 2025

Key Laboratory of All Optical Network and Advanced Telecommunication Network, Ministry of Education, Institute of Lightwave Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing 100044, China.

Diffractive optical elements (DOEs) are specialized optical components that manipulate light through diffraction for various applications, including holography, spectroscopy, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), and light detection and ranging (LiDAR). The performance of DOEs is highly determined by fabricated materials and fabrication methods, in addition to the numerical simulation design. This paper presents a microfabrication technique optimized for DOEs, enabling precise control of critical parameters, such as refractive index (RI) and thickness.

Contact Dynamic Behaviors of Magnetic Hydrogel Soft Robots.

Gels

December 2024

Department of Mechanics and Engineering Science, School of Physics, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing 210094, China.

Magnetic hydrogel soft robots have shown great potential in various fields. However, their contact dynamic behaviors are complex, considering stick-slip motion at the contact interface, and lack accurate computational models to analyze them. This paper improves the numerical computational method for hydrogel materials with magneto-mechanical coupling effect, analyses the inchworm-like contact motion of the biomimetic bipedal magnetic hydrogel soft robot, and designs and optimizes the robot's structure.
