Objectives: This study evaluated the impact of different doses of gabapentin and pregabalin on fracture healing in a rat femoral shaft model, with histological, radiological, and biomechanical assessments.
Materials And Methods: Seventy male Wistar albino rats were divided into five groups: control, low-dose gabapentin (GBP-L, 300 mg/day), high-dose gabapentin (GBP-H, 3600 mg/day), low-dose pregabalin (PRG-L, 150 mg/day), and high-dose pregabalin (PRG-H, 600 mg/day), based on human equivalent doses. Bilateral femoral fractures were induced; the right femurs were prepared for radiological examination using microtomography, followed by histological analysis, whereas the left femurs were allocated for biomechanical testing.

Metal halide perovskite single crystals (SCs) emerge as a promising candidate for ionizing radiation detection. The realization of top-performing radiation detectors typically relies on careful crystal selection from broad candidate groups, as residual strain remains unavoidable during the SC growth process, which often leads to the formation of ferroelastic domains with varied orientations. Here, we introduce an in-line tempering strategy to alleviate microstrain and homogenize the domain orientation across methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI) perovskite SCs.

Background: Scandium-47 is the therapeutic counterpart to the diagnostic radionuclides, Sc and Sc. Together, these form elementally matched theranostic nuclide pairs, but their incorporation into radiopharmaceuticals requires developing production techniques leading to radioscandium isotopes with high chemical and radionuclidic purity. Previous Sc production methods involved expensive, enriched titanium targets that require additional procedures for target recovery.

New polymers, properly designed for end-of-life and efficiently formed from renewable carbon, are key to the transition to a more sustainable circular plastics economy. Ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of bicyclic lactones is a promising method for the production of intrinsically recyclable polyesters, but most lactone monomers lack an efficient synthesis route from biobased starting materials, even though this is essential to sustainably account for material loss during the life cycle. Herein, we present the exceptionally rapid and controlled polymerization of a fully biobased tricyclic oxanorbornene-fused γ-butyrolactone monomer ().

Background: The electronic portal imaging device (EPID) can be used in vivo, to detect on-treatment errors by evaluating radiation exiting a patient. To detect deviations from the planning intent, image predictions need to be modeled based on the patient's anatomy and plan information. To date in vivo transit images have been predicted using Monte Carlo (MC) algorithms.
