Flow-injection spin-trapping electron paramagnetic resonance (FI-EPR) methods that involve the use of 5,5-dimethyl-pyrroline--oxide (DMPO) as a spin-trapping reagent have been developed for the kinetic study of the O radical scavenging reactions occurring in the presence of various plant-derived and synthetic phenolic antioxidants (Aox), such as flavonoid, pyrogallol, catechol, hydroquinone, resorcinol, and phenol derivatives in aqueous media (pH 7.4 at 25 °C). The systematically estimated second-order rate constants () of these phenolic compounds span a wide range (from 4.

Background: Headache is one of the most common symptoms of acute COVID-19 infection. However, its mechanisms remain poorly understood, and there is a lack of studies investigating changes in the periaqueductal gray (PAG) in COVID-19 patients exhibiting headaches.

Purpose: The study aimed to explore the alterations in metabolites of the PAG pre- and post-COVID-19 infection in individuals who suffered from headaches during the acute phase of the disease using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-MRS).

The degree to which redox-driven proton pumps regulate net charge during electron transfer (ΔZ) remains undetermined due to difficulties in measuring the net charge of solvated proteins. Values of ΔZ can reflect reorganization energies or redox potentials associated with ET and can be used to distinguish ET from proton(s)-coupled electron transfer (PCET). Here, we synthesized protein "charge ladders" of a Rieske [2Fe-2S] subunit from (truncRp) and made 120 electrostatic measurements of ΔZ across pH.

Observation of a Strongly Isospin-Mixed Doublet in ^{26}Si via β-Delayed Two-Proton Decay of ^{26}P.

β decay of proton-rich nuclei plays an important role in exploring isospin mixing. The β decay of ^{26}P at the proton drip line is studied using double-sided silicon strip detectors operating in conjunction with high-purity germanium detectors. The T=2 isobaric analog state (IAS) at 13 055 keV and two new high-lying states at 13 380 and 11 912 keV in ^{26}Si are unambiguously identified through β-delayed two-proton emission (β2p).
