Nonmesonic Quantum Many-Body Scars in a 1D Lattice Gauge Theory.

Phys Rev Lett

June 2024

Theoretical Quantum Physics Laboratory, Cluster for Pioneering Research, RIKEN, Wako-shi, Saitama 351-0198, Japan.

We investigate the meson excitations (particle-antiparticle bound states) in quantum many-body scars of a 1D Z_{2} lattice gauge theory coupled to a dynamical spin-1/2 chain as a matter field. By introducing a string representation of the physical Hilbert space, we express a scar state |Ψ_{n,l}⟩ as a superposition of all string bases with an identical string number n and a total length l. For the small-l scar state |Ψ_{n,l}⟩, the gauge-invariant spin exchange correlation function of the matter field hosts an exponential decay as the distance increases, indicating the existence of stable mesons.

We report a lattice QCD study of the heavy-light meson-meson interactions with an explicitly exotic flavor content bcu[over ¯]d[over ¯], isospin I=0, and axial-vector J^{P}=1^{+} quantum numbers in search of possible tetraquark bound states. The calculation is performed at four values of lattice spacing, ranging from ∼0.058 to ∼0.

Baryon Electric Charge Correlation as a Magnetometer of QCD.

Phys Rev Lett

May 2024

Key Laboratory of Quark and Lepton Physics (MOE) and Institute of Particle Physics, Central China Normal University, Wuhan 430079, China.

The correlation between net baryon number and electric charge, χ_{11}^{BQ}, can serve as a magnetometer of QCD. This is demonstrated by lattice QCD computations using the highly improved staggered quarks with physical pion mass of M_{π}=135  MeV on N_{τ}=8 and 12 lattices. We find that χ_{11}^{BQ} along the transition line starts to increase rapidly with magnetic field strength eB≳2M_{π}^{2} and by a factor 2 at eB≃8M_{π}^{2}.

We present the first lattice QCD calculation of the universal axial γW-box contribution □_{γW}^{VA} to both superallowed nuclear and neutron beta decays. This contribution emerges as a significant component within the theoretical uncertainties surrounding the extraction of |V_{ud}| from superallowed decays. Our calculation is conducted using two domain wall fermion ensembles at the physical pion mass.

: To evaluate and review the current evidence regarding the association between ischemic optic neuropathy (ION) and internal carotid artery dissection (ICAD). : We systematically reviewed studies according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis guidelines (PRISMA), searching three databases (Scopus, Pubmed, and Embase) for relevant articles that clearly described the correlation between ION and ICAD. All studies that examined the association between ICAD and the development of ION were synthesized.
