Background: Particle imaging can increase precision in proton and ion therapy. Interactions with nuclei in the imaged object increase image noise and reduce image quality, especially for multinucleon ions that can fragment, such as helium.
Purpose: This work proposes a particle imaging filter, referred to as the Prior Filter, based on using prior information in the form of an estimated relative stopping power (RSP) map and the principles of electromagnetic interaction, to identify particles that have undergone nuclear interaction.

We report on multinucleon effects in low momentum transfer (<0.8 GeV/c) antineutrino interactions on plastic (CH) scintillator. These data are from the 2010-2011 antineutrino phase of the MINERvA experiment at Fermilab.

Complete flavor decompositions of the matrix elements of the scalar, axial, and tensor currents in the proton, deuteron, diproton, and ^{3}He at SU(3)-symmetric values of the quark masses corresponding to a pion mass m_{π}∼806 MeV are determined using lattice quantum chromodynamics. At the physical quark masses, the scalar interactions constrain mean-field models of nuclei and the low-energy interactions of nuclei with potential dark matter candidates. The axial and tensor interactions of nuclei constrain their spin content, integrated transversity, and the quark contributions to their electric dipole moments.

Fission-fragment mass distributions were measured for ^{237-240}U, ^{239-242}Np, and ^{241-244}Pu populated in the excitation-energy range from 10 to 60 MeV by multinucleon transfer channels in the reaction ^{18}O+^{238}U at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency tandem facility. Among them, the data for ^{240}U and ^{240,241,242}Np were observed for the first time. It was found that the mass distributions for all the studied nuclides maintain a double-humped shape up to the highest measured energy in contrast to expectations of predominantly symmetric fission due to the washing out of nuclear shell effects.

The low-lying structure of the neutron-rich nucleus (50)Ar has been investigated at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory using in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy with (9)Be((54)Ca,(50)Ar+γ)X, (9)Be((55)Sc,(50)Ar+γ)X, and (9)Be((56)Ti,(50)Ar+γ)X multinucleon removal reactions at ∼220 MeV/u. A γ-ray peak at 1178(18) keV is reported and assigned as the transition from the first 2(+) state to the 0(+) ground state. A weaker, tentative line at 1582(38) keV is suggested as the 4(1)(+)→2(1)(+) transition.
