Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has gained widespread attention in cancer treatment, but it still faces clinical problems such as skin phototoxicity. Activatable photosensitizers offer a promising approach to addressing this issue. However, several significant hurdles need to be overcome, including developing effective activation strategies and achieving the optimal balance between photodynamic effects and related side effects.

Introduction: Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) and dental caries are prevalent diseases among Pakistani children. Limited research has been done to explore their association with permanent teeth. Given the caries susceptibility of permanent first molars and their role in the development of ideal occlusion, this study aimed to estimate caries frequency in these molars and assess its association with IDA in 7-12 year-old children.

Background: Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) induces profound physiological changes that may alter the pharmacokinetics of methadone. We aimed to describe the pharmacokinetics of an intravenous bolus of methadone racemate in adult patients undergoing heart surgery with CPB.
Methods: We prospectively studied 29 patients aged 45 to 75 years scheduled for cardiac surgery with CPB who received methadone 0.

Flexible high-deflection strain gauges have been demonstrated to be cost-effective and accessible sensors for capturing human biomechanical deformations. However, the interpretation of these sensors is notably more complex compared to conventional strain gauges, particularly during dynamic motion. In addition to the non-linear viscoelastic behavior of the strain gauge material itself, the dynamic response of the sensors is even more difficult to capture due to spikes in the resistance during strain path changes.

Epichlorohydrin is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of polymers and, more particularly, epoxy adhesives. The traditional process involves the cleavage of the carbon-chlorine bond in an alkaline solution. Here, we investigate the breakage of this bond induced by low-energy (<10 eV) electrons.
