While the main features of atomic nuclei are well described by nuclear mean-field models, there is a large and growing body of evidence which indicates an important additional role played by spatially-correlated nucleon-nucleon structures. The role of nucleonic structures was first suggested by Heidmann in 1950 to explain the pick-up reactions of energetic nucleons. Since then, a steady flux of new experimental evidence has confirmed the presence of similar structures inside atomic nuclei, dominated by correlations between pairs of nucleons.

We report results of Λ hyperon production in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering off deuterium, carbon, iron, and lead targets obtained with the CLAS detector and the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility 5.014 GeV electron beam. These results represent the first measurements of the Λ multiplicity ratio and transverse momentum broadening as a function of the energy fraction (z) in the current and target fragmentation regions.

The nuclear modification factors ([Formula: see text]) of d and [Formula: see text] have been studied using the parton and hadron cascade model plus the dynamically constrained phase space coalescence model in peripheral (40-60%) and central (0-5%) Pb-Pb collisions at [Formula: see text] with [Formula: see text]. It is found that the [Formula: see text] of [Formula: see text] is similar to that of hadrons ([Formula: see text]) and the [Formula: see text] of antiparticles is the same as that of particles. The suppression effect of d is more significant than that of baryons and mesons in the high-[Formula: see text] region.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFCharged pions are the lightest and longest-lived mesons. Mesonic atoms are formed when an orbital electron in an atom is replaced by a negatively charged meson. Laser spectroscopy of these atoms should permit the mass and other properties of the meson to be determined with high precision and could place upper limits on exotic forces involving mesons (as has been done in other experiments on antiprotons).

A cancer microenvironment generates strong hydrogen bond network system by the positive feedback loops supporting cancer complexity and robustness. Such network functions through the AKT locus generating high entropic energy supporting cancer metastatic robustness. Charged lepton particle muon follows the rule of Bragg effect during a collision with hydrogen network in cancer cells.
