Background: Quantitative evidence of levodopa-induced beneficial effects on parkinsonian rigidity in Parkinson's disease (PD) is lacking. Recent research has demonstrated the velocity-dependent nature of objective rigidity in PD and revealed its neural underpinning.
Objective: The present study aimed to examine the effect of levodopa on objective rigidity in PD.

Researchers conducted this observational study on sixty young females to detect the effect of the early follicular phase of the menstrual cycle on hip muscle performance. The Biodex Isokinetic dynamometer 4 pro was used. The authors used a dependent t-test and detected a statistically significant increase in the mean values of all hip flexion and extension isokinetic parameters at angular velocities 90°/sec and 180°/sec ( < 0.

Ion mobility spectrometry is successfully used as a sensor technology for different applications. A feature of this method is that characteristic ion mobility spectra are obtained for each measurement rather than a sum signal. The spectra result from the different drift velocities of ions in a drift tube at atmospheric pressure.

An important technical task is to develop methods for recording the phase transitions of water to ice. At present, many sensors based on various types of acoustic waves are suggested for solving this challenge. This paper focuses on the theoretical and experimental study of the effect of water-to-ice phase transition on the properties of Lamb and quasi shear horizontal (QSH) acoustic waves of a higher order propagating in different directions in piezoelectric plates with strong anisotropy.

RaceRunning is a sport for disabled people and successful performance depends on reducing the amount of time spent travelling a specific distance. Performance analysis in RaceRunning athletes is based on traditional methods such as recording race time, distances travelled and frequency (sets and reps) that are not sufficient for monitoring training loads. The aims of this study were to monitor training loads in typical training sessions and evaluate technical adaptations in RaceRunning performance by acquiring sensor metrics.
