We produce families of two-dimensional gap solitons (GSs) maintained by moiré lattices (MLs) composed of linear and nonlinear sublattices, with the defocusing sign of the nonlinearity. Depending on the angle between the sublattices, the ML may be quasiperiodic or periodic, composed of mutually incommensurate or commensurate sublattices, respectively (in the latter case, the inter-lattice angle corresponds to Pythagorean triples). The GSs include fundamental, quadrupole, and octupole solitons, as well as quadrupoles and octupoles carrying unitary vorticity.

Highest enhancement factors are achieved in nanosized gaps of metal dimers. It is commonly assumed that higher-order plasmon resonances, such as electric quadrupole and octupole, are in nanoparticles much weaker than a dipole resonance.

Nanoscale particles described by Mie resonance in the UV-vis-NIR region are in high demand for optical applications. Controlling the shape and size of these particles is essential, as it results in the ability to control the wavelength of the Mie resonance peak. In this work, we study the extensive scattering properties of gadolinium niobate particles with complex bar- and cube-like shapes in the UV-vis-NIR region.

Here, we describe our pulsed helium droplet apparatus for spectroscopy of molecular ions. Our approach involves the doping of the droplets of about 10 nm in diameter with precursor molecules, such as ethylene, followed by electron impact ionization. Droplets containing ions are irradiated by the pulsed infrared laser beam.

As the most important plutonium isotopes, Pu, Pu, Pu, and Pu are normally measured by two to three techniques, which are tedious, time-consuming, and not suitable for rapid analysis in emergency situations. Recently, ICP-MS has become a competitive technique for the rapid measurement of Pu, Pu, and Pu. However, ICP-MS is difficult to measure Pu due to the serious isobaric interference of U.
