To investigate the efficacy and safety of picosecond (PS) and nanosecond (NS) 1064-nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd: YAG) laser in treating Café-au-lait macules (CALMs). We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of patients with CALMs, who were treated with PS or NS 1064-nm lasers from January 2020 to January 2022. The efficacy was determined based on the before and after pictures by two independent investigators.

Factors influencing type 2 diabetes self-management practices in rural Bangladesh: a qualitative investigation.

Front Public Health

January 2025

Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI), Faculty of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University, Clayton, VIC, Australia.

Introduction: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a prevalent, chronic health condition of global significance, with low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) disproportionately affected. Diabetes self-management practices (DSMP) are the gold-standard treatment approach, yet uptake remains challenge in LMICs.

Purpose Of The Study: This study aimed to explore the barriers to and facilitators of DSMP and preferences for intervention design and delivery in Bangladesh, an LMIC, with prevalent T2DM.

Introduction: Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society launched the JEEViKA program in 2007 to improve livelihoods through the Self-Help Group (SHG) platform. Women's SHGs have shown members' health improvements by promoting awareness, practices and access to services. This study investigates whether Health & Nutrition (HN) interventions delivered by JEEViKA Technical Support Program (JTSP) via SHG platforms could improve maternal and newborn health and nutritional behaviors in rural Bihar.

Hydrogen production by suspension self-rotation enhanced pyrolysis of sludge particles in cyclone.

Water Res

January 2025

National Engineering Research Center of Industrial Wastewater Detoxication and Resource Recovery, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, 200237, China. Electronic address:

The challenges faced by sludge pyrolysis units, including poor heat transfer efficiency and uneven heating of material groups, significantly hinder the green and low-carbon transformation and sustainable development of sludge treatment. The suspension self-rotation of sludge particles in a cyclone enhances particle heat transfer, thereby improving the pyrolysis process. In this study, we developed a novel method for sludge pyrolysis using Cyclone Suspension Self-Rotation Pyrolysis Reactor (CSSPR).

Background: Families of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) need a variety of information about the patient. Meeting these information needs improves the quality of communication between the family and ICU staff, as well as reduces the risk of post-intensive care syndrome-family (PICS-F). However, information needs continue to be unmet, and information regarding which specific information needs are met or unmet is insufficient.
