Background: Comorbidities are becoming increasingly evident during various Alzheimer's disease related pathologies. It was found that patients with AD have a higher risk for fractures and falls. Further people who have an incident of falls/fractures have a higher risk for cognitive decline.

The adaptation of 3D printing techniques within the construction industry has opened new possibilities for designing and constructing cementitious materials efficiently and flexibly. The layered nature of extrusion-based concrete printing introduces challenges, such as interlayer weaknesses, that compromise structural integrity and mechanical performance. This experimental study investigates the influence of interlayer orientation and the presence of cold joints (CJ) on mechanical properties, such as stiffness and strength.

The computational spectroscopy of water has proven to be a powerful tool for probing the structure and dynamics of chemical systems and for providing atomistic insight into experimental vibrational spectroscopic results. However, such calculations have been limited for biochemical systems due to the lack of empirical vibrational frequency maps for the TIP3P water model, which is used in many popular biomolecular force fields. Here, we develop an empirical map for the TIP3P model and evaluate its efficacy for reproducing the experimental vibrational spectroscopy of water.

Damage models have significantly advanced predictions of ductile fractures in large, thin-walled structures like automobiles, ships, and aircraft. However, accurately predicting these fractures remains challenging due to variations in strain localization, ranging from biaxial compression to tension. This study introduces a specialized damage model for shell elements, utilizing data from shear, uniaxial, and plane tension tests.

Background: Many researchers have proposed incorporating orbital volume (OV) discrepancies between the affected and unaffected orbits into routine diagnostic processes as an indicator for early surgical repair of zygomatic complex fractures (ZMCFxs) to avoid postoperative ocular complications.
Purpose: The study aimed to determine the correlation between the preoperative OV discrepancy and postoperative globe position.
Study Design, Setting, Sample: A retrospective cohort study was performed on patients with unilateral ZMCFxs associated with orbital floor fractures, treated at Al-Zahraa Hospital, Al-Azhar University, from January 2020 to July 2023.
