Introduction: One of the most common applications of transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) at low current intensity is to induce a relaxed state or reduce anxiety. With technical advancement, different waveforms, montages, and parameters can be incorporated into the treatment regimen. We developed a novel protocol to treat individuals with anxiety disorders by transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS).

Nano-constriction based spin Hall nano-oscillators (SHNOs) are at the forefront of spintronics research for emerging technological applications, such as oscillator-based neuromorphic computing and Ising Machines. However, their miniaturization to the sub-50 nm width regime results in poor scaling of the threshold current. Here, it shows that current shunting through the Si substrate is the origin of this problem and studies how different seed layers can mitigate it.

Magnons serve as a testing ground for fundamental aspects of Hermitian and non-Hermitian wave mechanics and are of high relevance for information technology. This study presents setups for realizing spatiotemporally driven parity-time- (PT) symmetric magnonics based on coupled magnetic waveguides and magnonic crystals. A charge current in a metal layer with strong spin-orbit coupling sandwiched between two insulating magnetic waveguides leads to gain or loss in the magnon amplitude depending on the directions of the magnetization and the charge currents.

Compared with traditional centimeter-level electrodes, microelectrodes exhibit a small reaction area, high sensitivity, fast mass transfer rate, and low polarization current. However, current microelectrode preparation processes are very complicated and costly. Herein, we proposed a facile and universal method for fabricating single-particle microelectrodes.

Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) was introduced about a decade ago as a non-invasive brain stimulation method to modulate neural oscillations in a relatively safe manner in humans. However, the possibility to induce genuine neural entrainment with low current intensities has been questioned. In a recent study, Johnson and colleagues provide direct evidence for the efficacy of low-intensity tACS to induce neural entrainment in awake monkeys.
