AlGaN-based ultraviolet (UV) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) experience a notable reduction in efficiency within the 280-330 nm wavelength range, known as the "UVB gap". Given the extensive applications of UV LEDs in this wavelength range, it is imperative to bridge this efficiency gap. In this study, a strategy facilitated by the presence of residual Al adatoms is introduced to simultaneously improve the integration of Ga-adatoms and the migration of Al/Ga-adatoms during the growth of low-Al-composition AlGaN quantum wells (QWs) even at high temperatures comparable to those used for high-Al-composition AlGaN quantum barriers.

A 75-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with a complaint of jaundice and elevated liver enzyme levels. She was diagnosed with pancreatic head carcinoma after examination. She had undergone massive resection of the small intestine due to thrombosis of the superior mesenteric artery at 48 years of age, and the remaining ileum was approximately 70 cm in length.

Larval fish are active planktonic predators, with many species feeding initially on copepod nauplii and gradually shifting their selection to copepodites. This study evaluated whether it is possible to develop a general widely applicable empirical model to describe the transition from feeding on copepod nauplii to copepodites in relation to body length, maxilla length and eye diameter. The study also evaluated whether the switch to copepodites is linked to what prey are in the stomach or which copepodite species are replacing nauplii in the diet was also considered.

Introduction: This study aimed to determine possible histological and radiological differences in alveolar ridge preservation (ARP), using moldable bone versus particulate bone.
Methods: After tooth extraction, 39 patients (40 teeth) were randomized (1:1) to receive ARP using moldable bone materials (SBX group) or particulate bone materials (PBX group). An absorbable collagen membrane was placed over the graft material and the surgical site was sutured.

Background: Interfering RNA therapies (RNAi) have changed the management of patients with hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1); data in dialysis remain scarce.
Results: A PH1 teenager undergoing intensive hemodiafiltration received lumasiran. POx levels almost halved during the loading phase (98 to 52 µmol/L), but rebound occurred when doses were quarterly-spaced, with POx at 94 µmol/L at 5 months.
