Infodynamics is the study of how information behaves and changes within a system during its development. This study investigates the insights that informational analysis can provide regarding the ramifications predicted by constructal design. First, infodynamic neologisms informature, defined as a measure of the amount of information in indeterminate physical systems, and infotropy-contextualized informature representing the degree of transformation of indeterminate physical systems-are introduced.

Sol-gel silica matrices singly doped with Sm and co-doped with ligands phenyl phosphinic acid (PPIA) and trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO) were fabricated and studied for their structural and spectroscopic behaviour. Structural studies were done by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) absorption analysis whereas spectroscopic behaviour was studied by ultraviolet - visible (UV-Vis) absorption, photoluminescence (PL) excitation, emission and time-correlated decay analyses. XRD studies exhibit the amorphous nature of the samples and FTIR studies corroborate the presence of the ligands in the silica matrix.

Excitation energy transfer between the photochemically active protein complexes is key for photosynthetic processes. Phototrophic organisms like cyanobacteria experience subtle changes in irradiance under natural conditions. Such changes need adjustments to the excitation energy transfer between the photosystems for sustainable growth.

Understanding the mechanism of steam-induced dealumination of zeolite catalysts is of high relevance for tuning their performance and stability in multiple industrial processes. A combination of Al and H-H double-quantum single-quantum magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance and diffuse-reflectance ultraviolet-visible spectroscopies identified a preferential dealumination of tetrahedral aluminum sites in H-ZSM-5 zeolites. Framework aluminum atoms facing channels display reactivity toward steam higher than that of those in their intersections.
