With reduced dimensionality and a high surface area-to-volume ratio, two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors exhibit intriguing electronic properties that are exceptionally sensitive to surrounding environments, including directly interfacing gate dielectrics. These influences are tightly correlated to their inherent behavior, making it critical to examine when extrinsic charge carriers are intentionally introduced to the channel for complementary functionality. This study explores the physical origin of the competitive transition between intrinsic and extrinsic charge carrier conduction in extrinsically -doped MoS, highlighting the central role of interactions of the channel with amorphous gate dielectrics.

Controlling trap depth is crucial to improve photocatalytic activity, but designing such crystal structures has been challenging. In this study, we discovered that in 2D materials like BiOCl and Bi4NbO8Cl, composed of interleaved [Bi2O2]2+ and Cl- slabs, the trap depth can be controlled by manipulating the slab stacking structure. In BiOCl, oxygen vacancies (VO) create deep electron traps, while chlorine vacancies (VCl) produce shallow traps.

Molybdenum telluride (MoTe) shows great promise as a solar absorber material for photovoltaic (PV) cells owing to its wide absorption range, adjustable bandgap, and lack of dangling bonds at the surface. In this research, a basic device structure comprising Pt/MoTe/ZnO/ITO/Al was developed, and its potential was assessed using the SCAPS-1D software. The preliminary device exhibited a photovoltaic efficiency of 23.

In short-carbon-fiber-reinforced polyamide 66 articles shaped by 3D printing (3D-SCFRPA66), the interfaces between printed layers are often susceptible to damage, and the composite is excessively brittle. Therefore, a novel treatment for 3D-printed short-carbon-fiber-reinforced polyamide (3D-SCFRPA66) using homogeneous low-potential electron beam irradiation (HLEBI) to enhance tensile properties was investigated. In 3D-SCFRPA66 samples, ductility was measured based on the following parameters: strain at tensile strength (corresponding to homogeneous deformation) () and resistance energy to homogeneous deformation, a measure of toughness (), which were both substantially increased.

Shear thinning of associative polymers is tied to bond breakage under deformation and retraction of dangling chains, as predicted by transient network theories. However, an in-depth understanding of the molecular mechanisms is limited by our ability to measure the molecular states of the polymers during deformation. Herein, utilizing a custom-built rheo-fluorescence setup, bond dissociation in model end-linked associative polymers is quantified in real time with nonlinear shear deformation based on a fluorescence quench transition when phenanthroline ligands bind with Ni.
