The efficient degradation of SAs is a significant challenge for the treatment of wastewater. To address this, the FeS@BC was prepared by calcining a mixture of pyrite and biomass, and used to activate peroxydisulfate (PDS) to degrade sulfadiazine (SDZ). The effect of carbon sources (wheat straw, rice husk, and corn cob) on catalytic activity of FeS@BC were investigated by Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), total Fe dissolution and free radical quantification.

Protein citrullination modification plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPAs) are extensively employed for clinical diagnosis of RA. However, there remains limited understanding regarding specific citrullinated proteins and their implications in the progression of RA. In this study, we screen and verify insulin-like growth factor-2 mRNA binding protein 1 (IGF2BP1) as a novel citrullinated protein with significantly elevated citrullinated level in RA.

In this study, graphitic carbon nitride (CN) and tungsten trioxide (WO) were successfully incorporated into bromine (Br)-doped graphitic carbon nitride (BCN) using an in-situ hydrothermal method. The photocatalytic efficiency of the resulting WO/Br-doped CN (WBCN) composites for the removal of tetracycline (TC) antibiotics under sunlight irradiation was evaluated. The mass ratio of WO to Br-doped CN (BCN) significantly influenced TC adsorption and photocatalytic degradation, with an optimal ratio of 9:1.

The selective depolymerization of β-O-4 lignin models into high-value aromatic monomers using photocatalysis presents both significant opportunities and challenges. Photocatalysts often face issues such as high photogenerated carrier recombination rates and limited operational lifetimes. This study introduces S doping to modulate the surface interface of BiOCl (BOC) nanosheets, enhancing C-O bond cleavage efficiency in β-O-4 lignin models under visible light at ambient temperatures.
