Serotyping and antimicrobial resistance of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae isolates from fattening pigs in Poland from 2019 to 2024.

BMC Vet Res

January 2025

Department of Large Animal Diseases and Clinic, Institute of Veterinary Medicine, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Warsaw, 02-787, Poland.

Background: Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae is a prevalent respiratory pathogen causing substantial economic losses in swine production worldwide. The bacterium's ability to rapidly develop antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a significant challenge to effective treatment and control. In Poland, limited data on A.

A particle current generated by pumping in the absence of gradients in potential energy, density or temperature is associated with non-trivial dynamics. A representative example is charge pumping that is associated with the quantum Hall effect and the quantum anomalous Hall effect. Spin pumping, the spin equivalent of charge pumping, refers to the emission of a spin current by magnetization dynamics.

Air pollution is a critical global environmental issue, further exacerbated by rapid industrialization and urbanization. Accurate prediction of air pollutant concentrations is essential for effective pollution prevention and control measures. The complex nature of pollutant data is influenced by fluctuating meteorological conditions, diverse pollution sources, and propagation processes, underscores the crucial importance of the spatial and temporal feature extraction for accurately predicting air pollutant concentrations.

Intracranial complications of otitis media are rare but pose a significant risk of morbidity and mortality. We report a case of a 27-year-old man with cognitive impairment who presented with fever, right-sided otalgia, otorrhea, and vomiting for three days. His neurological examination was unremarkable, and a brain computed tomography (CT) revealed right-sided otomastoiditis without intraparenchymal lesions.

Abnormal network homogeneity in patients with bipolar disorder in attention network.

Brain Imaging Behav

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Adolescent Cyberpsychology and Behavior (Ministry of Education), Wuhan, China.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a complex psychiatric condition marked by significant mood fluctuations that deeply affect quality of life. Understanding the neural mechanisms underlying BD is critical for improving diagnostic accuracy and developing more effective treatments. This study utilized resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) to investigate functional connectivity within the ventral and dorsal attention networks in 52 patients with BD and 51 healthy controls.
