Observations of Cherenkov-Like Radial Wake in Water Waves.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Ocean Observation‑Imaging Testbed of Zhejiang Province, Ocean College, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, 310058, China.

Cherenkov radiation (CR) is a fascinating phenomenon that occurs not only in electromagnetic (EM) waves but also in water waves. The V-shaped wake formed by a moving object on the water surface results from the constructive interference of water waves of different wavelengths, similar to CR. We designed and fabricated a one-dimensional (1D) water wave crystal to analogize the behavior of moving particles in water waves.

The incorporation of Sb ions into all-inorganic halide lead-free perovskites bestows them with remarkable photoluminescence characteristics, including an extensive color tuning range, elevated photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY), and reversible color transitions, which hold significant promise for applications in light-emitting diodes, anti-counterfeiting encryption technologies, and photodetectors. Sb ions not only create new optical absorption channels but also can be integrated into these materials as activators or sensitizers to modulate the bandgap and band structure. This review focuses on the optical properties of Sb ion-doped lead-free halide perovskites while examining potential energy transfer pathways across various doping systems.

Nanoclay-Mediated Crystal-Phase Engineering in Biofunctions to Balance Antibacteriality and Cytotoxicity.

Nano Lett

January 2025

Engineering Research Center of Nano-Geomaterials of Ministry of Education, China University of Geosciences, Wuhan 430074, China.

The crystalline phase of metal oxides is a key determinant of the properties and functions of the nanomaterials. Traditional approaches have focused on replicating bulk-phase structures, with limited exploration of phase diversity due to challenges in controlling the crystal morphology. Here, we introduce a nanoclay-mediated strategy for crystal-phase engineering, using talc to modulate the morphology and phase of manganese oxide (MnOx) nanoparticles.

Background/purpose: The obturation of canals with irregular structures is still a challenge for single cone obturation technique (SC). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the presence and distribution of voids using SC with different sealer placement methods in the canal with a simulated band-shaped isthmus.

Materials And Methods: 3D-printed root canal models with band-shaped isthmuses were randomly divided into four groups according to different obturation methods.
