Donor-bridge-acceptor complexes (D-B-A) are important model systems for understanding of light-induced processes. Here, we apply two-color two-dimensional infrared (2D-IR) spectroscopy to D-B-A complexes with a -Pt(II) acetylide bridge (D-C≡C-Pt-C≡C-A) to uncover the mechanism of vibrational energy redistribution (IVR). Site-selective C isotopic labeling of the bridge is used to decouple the acetylide modes positioned on either side of the Pt-center.

Two-photon lithography has revolutionized multi-photon 3D laser printing, enabling precise fabrication of micro- and nanoscale structures. Despite many advancements, challenges still persist, particularly in biofunctionalization of 3D microstructures. This study introduces a novel approach combining two-photon lithography with scanning probe lithography for post-functionalization of 3D microstructures overcoming limitations in achieving spatially controlled biomolecule distribution.

The field of nanotechnology continues to grow with the ongoing discovery and characterization of novel nanomaterials with unconventional size-dependent properties; however, the ability to apply modern manufacturing strategies for practical device design of these nanoscale structures is significantly limited by their small size. Although interconnection has been previously demonstrated between nanoscale components, such approaches often require the use of expensive oxidation-resistant noble metal materials and time-consuming or untargeted strategies for welded interconnection such as laser ablation or plasmonic resonance across randomly oriented component networks. In this work, a three-segment gold-nickel-gold nanowire structure is synthesized using templated electrodeposition and modified via monolayer-directed aqueous chemical reduction of tin solder selectively on the gold segments.

We present results from a covariance ion imaging study, which employs extensive filtering, on the relationship between fragment momenta to gain deeper insight into photofragmentation dynamics. A new data analysis approach is introduced that considers the momentum partitioning between the fragments of the breakup of a molecular polycation to disentangle concurrent fragmentation channels, which yield the same ion species. We exploit this approach to examine the momentum exchange relationship between the products, which provides direct insight into the dynamics of molecular fragmentation.

Chiral plasmonic surfaces with 3D "forests" from nanohelicoids should provide strong optical rotation due to alignment of helical axis with propagation vector of photons. However, such three-dimensional nanostructures also demand multi-step nanofabrication, which is incompatible with many substrates. Large-scale photonic patterns on polymeric and flexible substrates remain unattainable.
