The intrinsic resistance of stretchable materials is dependent on strain, following Ohm's law. Here the invariable resistance of highly conductive cross-linked nanocomposites over 53% strain is reported, where additional electron scattering is absent with stretching. The in situ generated uniformly dispersed small silver nanosatellite particles (diameter = 3.

Plasmon excitation in molecular tunnel junctions is interesting because the plasmonic properties of the device can be, in principle, controlled by varying the chemical structure of the molecules. The plasmon energy of the excited plasmons usually follows the quantum cutoff law, but frequently overbias plasmon energy has been observed, which can be explained by quantum shot noise, multielectron processes, or hot carrier models. So far, clear correlations between molecular structure and the plasmon energy have not been reported.

Chemical reactions are in virtually all cases understood and explained on the basis of depicting the molecular potential energy landscape, i.e., the change in atomic positions vs the free-energy change.

In magnetic tunnel junctions based on iron oxide nanoparticles the disorder and the oxidation state of the surface spin as well as the nanoparticles functionalization play a crucial role in the magnetotransport properties. In this work, we report a systematic study of the effects of vacuum annealing on the structural, magnetic and transport properties of self-assembled ∼10 nm FeOnanoparticles. The high temperature treatment (from 573 to 873 K) decomposes the organic coating into amorphous carbon, reducing the electrical resistivity of the assemblies by 4 orders of magnitude.

Quantum tunneling and external electric fields (EEFs) can promote some reactions. However, the synergetic effect of an EEF on a tunneling-involving reaction and its temperature-dependence is not very clear. In this study, we extensively investigated how EEFs affect three reactions that involve hydrogen- or (ground- and excited-state) carbon-tunneling using reliable DFT, DLPNO-CCSD(T1), and variational transition-state theory methods.
