Unraveling the Role of Functional Groups of Terephthalate in Enhancing the Electrochemical Oxygen Evolution Reaction of Nickel-Organic Framework Nanoarrays.

Inorg Chem

January 2025

Jiangxi Province Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Polymer, School of Chemistry and Materials Science, East China University of Technology, Nanchang 330013 Jiangxi, P. R. China.

The platelike nickel-terephthalate-type metal-organic framework nanoarrays (Ni-BDC NAs) on carbon cloth are obtained by employing agaric-like Ni(OH) NAs as sacrificial templates. The microenvironment of Ni-BDC NAs is modulated by various neighboring functional groups (-NH, -NO, and -Br) on the carboxylate ligand, exerting minimal destructive effects on the structure and morphology of Ni-BDC NAs. The electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction (OER) of Ni-BDC-NH NAs, Ni-BDC-NO NAs, and Ni-BDC-Br NAs exhibited a significant enhancement compared to that of Ni-BDC NAs alone, as evidenced by both experimental and theoretical assessments.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the positive effects on anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, and microbial composition optimization of diabetic mice using tussah (Antheraea pernyi) silk fibroin peptides (TSFP), providing the theoretical foundation for making the use of silk resources of A. pernyi and incorporating as a supplement into the hypoglycemic foods.

Method: The animal model of diabetes was established successfully.

Expert navigators deploy rational complexity-based decision precaching for large-scale real-world planning.

Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A

Institute of Behavioural Neuroscience, Department of Experimental Psychology, University College London, London WC1H 0AP, United Kingdom.

Efficient planning is a distinctive hallmark of intelligence in humans, who routinely make rapid inferences over complex world contexts. However, studies investigating how humans accomplish this tend to focus on naive participants engaged in simplistic tasks with small state spaces, which do not reflect the intricacy, ecological validity, and human specialization in real-world planning. In this study, we examine the street-by-street route planning of London taxi drivers navigating across more than 26,000 streets in London (United Kingdom).

The extinction of species is a major threat to the biodiversity. Allee effects are strongly linked to population extinction vulnerability. Emerging ecological evidence from numerous ecosystems reveals that the Allee effect, which is brought on by two or more processes, can work on a single species concurrently.

Accelerating Fock Build via Hybrid Analytical-Numerical Integration.

J Phys Chem A

January 2025

Qingdao Institute for Theoretical and Computational Sciences and Center for Optics Research and Engineering, Shandong University, Qingdao 266237, P. R. China.

A hybrid analytical-numerical integration scheme is introduced to accelerate the Fock build in self-consistent field (SCF) and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations. To evaluate the Coulomb matrix [], the density matrix is first decomposed into two parts, the superposition of atomic density matrices and the rest = -. While [] is evaluated analytically, [] is evaluated fully numerically [with the multipole expansion of the Coulomb potential (MECP)] during the SCF iterations.
