This study focused on evaluating the fractionation of pequi oil and modeling the process using solid-liquid equilibrium (SLE) theory. The pequi oil was comprehensively characterized, including its fatty acid (FA) and acylglycerol (AG) profiles, moisture content, acidity, carotenoid levels, and thermal behavior. Low acidity and partial acylglycerols content, along with its TAG profile (mainly OOP, POP, OOO and PPP) and melting behavior proved that, in fact, this oil is quite suitable for fractionation.

Barocaloric (BC) materials offer the potential for highly energy-efficient refrigeration by generating heat absorption through the effect of pressure on a solid-solid phase transition. However, very few of the known materials have the required phase transition in the temperature regions necessary for domestic refrigeration or air conditioning. We introduce organic ionic plastic crystals (OIPCs) as a new family of BC materials.

We calculate the shear relaxation times in four important simple monatomic model fluids: Lennard-Jones, Yukawa, soft-sphere, and hard-sphere fluids. It is observed that in properly reduced units, the shear relaxation times exhibit quasiuniversal behavior when the density increases from the gaslike low values to the high-density regime near crystallization. They first decrease with density at low densities, reach minima at moderate densities, and then increase toward the freezing point.

Piperine (PPN) is a natural compound with an anti-inflammation effect and low solubility. Hence, some molecular modifications have improved its solid-state character, including cocrystal formation. However, the salt structure has yet to be widely studied.

In this study, a series of SrLuAl(BO):Sm red phosphors were successfully prepared with a high-temperature solid-phase technology. The Rietveld refinement analysis of the X-ray diffraction (XRD) diffraction patterns indicated that the as-prepared phosphors belong to the R3¯ space group of the hexagonal crystal system. Under 404 nm near-ultraviolet excitation, the SrLuAl(BO):Sm phosphor exhibits narrowband emission within the range of 550 to 750 nm.
