A particle counting immunosensor for the sensitive detection of ochratoxin A via click chemistry-mediated signal amplification.

J Hazard Mater

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Marine Food Processing and Safety Control, Dalian Polytechnic University, Dalian, Liaoning 116034, PR China. Electronic address:

The existence of ochratoxin A (OTA) in agricultural products poses significant threats to human health and environment, underscoring the critical need for its prompt and precise quantification. A particle counting immunosensor for the highly sensitive detection of OTA was presented, employing SiO@CuO nanoparticles to facilitate click chemistry. The quantity of SiO@CuO nanoparticles, and consequently the Cu²⁺ concentration, can be directly altered through the immune response involving OTA.

Displacement MMG-based estimation of dynamic muscle viscoelasticity in the quadriceps during passive pedaling.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering of Health Systems, Okayama University, Okayama, 700-0082, Japan.

We explore the correlation between muscle viscoelasticity and displacement mechanomyography (DMMG) during passive joint movement. Current methods for assessing muscle viscoelasticity (which is essential for rehabilitation and sports conditioning) are limited in terms of simplicity, objectivity, and portability. We introduce a novel methodology employing DMMG during passive pedaling to evaluate these properties.

Photopyroelectric tweezers for versatile manipulation.

Innovation (Camb)

January 2025

Center for Intelligent Biomedical Materials and Devices (IBMD), Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Shenzhen 518055, China.

Optical tweezers and related techniques offer extraordinary opportunities for research and applications in physical, biological, and medical fields. However, certain critical requirements, such as high-intensity laser beams, sophisticated electrode designs, additional electric sources, or low-conductive media, significantly impede their flexibility and adaptability, thus hindering their practical applications. Here, we report innovative photopyroelectric tweezers (PPT) that combine the advantages of light and electric field by utilizing a rationally designed photopyroelectric substrate with efficient and durable photo-induced surface charge-generation capability, enabling diverse manipulation in various working scenarios.

Early screening and evaluation of infant motor development are crucial for detecting motor deficits and enabling timely interventions. Traditional clinical assessments are often subjective, without fully capturing infants' "real-world" behavior. This has sparked interest in portable, low-cost technologies to objectively and precisely measure infant motion at home, with a goal of enhancing ecological validity.

A bibliometric and visualization analysis of electrochemical biosensors for early diagnosis of eye diseases.

Front Med (Lausanne)

January 2025

Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Central South University, Changsha, China.

Electrochemical biosensors can provide an economical, accurate and rapid method for early screening of disease biomarkers in clinical medicine due to their high sensitivity, selectivity, portability, low cost and easy manufacturing, and multiplexing capability. Tear, a fluid naturally secreted by the human body, is not only easily accessible but also contains a great deal of biological information. However, no bibliometric studies focus on applying electrochemical sensors in tear/eye diseases.
