Blue phases (BPs) consist of three-dimensional self-assembled structures formed by a double-twisted columnar arrangement of liquid crystal molecules. Although their unique optical and structural properties render BPs particularly useful for applications such as liquid crystal displays, BPs typically appear in a narrow temperature range between the isotropic and nematic phases. This thermodynamic instability impedes their practical applicability.

Objective: To explore the value of the features of lymph nodes (LNs) with a short-axis diameter ≥6 mm in predicting lymph node metastasis (LNM) in advanced gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) based on dual-energy CT (DECT) radiomics.

Materials And Methods: Data of patients with GAC who underwent radical gastrectomy and LN dissection were retrospectively analyzed. To ensure the correspondence between imaging and pathology, metastatic LNs were only selected from patients with pN3, nonmetastatic LNs were selected from patients with pN0, and the short-axis diameters of the enrolled LNs were all ≥6 mm.

The development of magnetocaloric materials represents an approach to enable efficient and environmentally friendly refrigeration. It is envisioned as a key technology to reduce CO emissions of air conditioning and cooling systems. Fe-Rh has been shown to be one of the best-suited materials in terms of heat exchange per material volume.

Continued scaling of electronic devices shows the need to incorporate high mobility alternatives to silicon, the cornerstone of the semiconductor industry, into modern field effect transistor (FET) devices. Germanium is well-poised to serve as the channel material in FET devices as it boasts an electron and hole mobility more than twice and four times that of Si, respectively. However, its unstable native oxide makes its passivation a crucial step toward its potential integration into future FETs.

The main purposes of this study were (a) to compare the effects of mental imagery combined with physical practise and specific physical practise on the retention and transfer of a closed motor skill in young children; (b) to determine the mental imagery (visual vs. kinesthetic), which is the most efficient for retention and transfer of a closed motor skill; and (c) to verify the relationship between movement image vividness and motor performance. As for the secondary purpose, it was to compare the effects of gender on motor learning.
