The one-neutron knockout from ^{52}Ca in inverse kinematics onto a proton target was performed at ∼230 MeV/nucleon combined with prompt γ spectroscopy. Exclusive quasifree scattering cross sections to bound states in ^{51}Ca and the momentum distributions corresponding to the removal of 1f_{7/2} and 2p_{3/2} neutrons were measured. The cross sections, interpreted within the distorted-wave impulse approximation reaction framework, are consistent with a shell closure at the neutron number N=32, found as strong as at N=28 and N=34 in Ca isotopes from the same observables.

We employ the impulse approximation for a description of positronium-atom scattering. Our analysis and calculations of Ps-Kr and Ps-Ar collisions provide a theoretical explanation of the similarity between the cross sections for positronium scattering and electron scattering for a range of atomic and molecular targets observed by S. J.

Neutron Compton scattering (NCS) measurements on ammonium hexachloropalladate and hexachlorotellurate were performed at room temperature. Proton scattering intensities and momentum distributions, as measured in the NCS experiment, have been compared with results expected from the impulse approximation (IA) for both systems. The measurement shows that scattering intensity from protons is anomalous even though their momentum distribution has a second moment that agrees very well with the ab initio calculation for an isolated pseudo-spherical NH(4)(+) ion in the ground vibrational state.

The most populated structure of tetrahydrofuran (THF) has been investigated in our previous study using electron momentum spectroscopy (EMS). Because of the relatively low impact energy (600 eV) and low energy resolution (DeltaE = 1.20 eV) in the previous experiment, only the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) of THF was investigated.

We provide integrated cross sections for quasielastic charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering. Results evaluated using the phenomenological scaling function extracted from the analysis of experimental (e, e') data are compared with those obtained within the framework of the relativistic impulse approximation. We show that very reasonable agreement is reached when a description of final-state interactions based on the relativistic mean field is included.
