Treating emerging pollutants at low concentrations presents significant challenges in terms of degradation efficiency. Anodic oxidation using active and non-active electrodes shows great potential for wastewater treatment. Thus, this study compared the efficiency of a commercial mixed metal oxide anode (MMO: Ti/TiRuO) and a boron-doped diamond anode (BDD) for the electrochemical oxidation of diuron in methanol, in chloride and sulfate media.

Near-infrared (NIR) organic photodetectors (OPDs), particularly all-polymer-based ones, hold substantial commercial promise in the healthcare and imaging sectors. However, the process of optimizing their active layer composition to achieve highly competitive figures of merit lacks a clear direction and methodology. In this work, celebrity polymer acceptor PY-IT into a more NIR absorbing host system PBDB-T:PZF-V, to significantly enhance the photodetection competence, is introduced.

Significance: Cerebral oximeters have the potential to detect abnormal cerebral blood oxygenation to allow for early intervention. However, current commercial systems have two major limitations: (1) spatial coverage of only the frontal region, assuming that surgery-related hemodynamic effects are global and (2) susceptibility to extracerebral signal contamination inherent to continuous-wave near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS).
Aim: This work aimed to assess the feasibility of a high-density, time-resolved (tr) NIRS device (Kernel Flow) to monitor regional oxygenation changes across the cerebral cortex during surgery.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is associated with the loss of neuromelanin (NM) and increased iron in the substantia nigra (SN). Magnetization transfer contrast (MTC) is widely used for NM visualization but has limitations in brain coverage and scan time. This study aimed to develop a new approach called Proton-density Enhanced Neuromelanin Contrast in Low flip angle gradient echo (PENCIL) imaging to visualize NM in the SN.
