Objective: To propose Deep-RPD-Net, a 3-dimensional deep learning network with semisupervised learning (SSL) for the detection of reticular pseudodrusen (RPD) on spectral-domain OCT scans, explain its decision-making, and compare it with baseline methods.
Design: Deep learning model development.
Participants: Three hundred fifteen participants from the Age-Related Eye Disease Study 2 Ancillary OCT Study (AREDS2) and 161 participants from the Dark Adaptation in Age-related Macular Degeneration Study (DAAMD).

The integration of photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) offers a promising strategy for enhancing phototherapy efficiency. Herein, we present a dual-functional, biocompatible nanocomposite system for combination PDT/PTT therapy. The system utilizes a highly biocompatible nanoparticle assembled by an amphiphilic short peptide with the assistance of Zn as a carrier.

Introduction: Peripheral intravenous cannulation (PIVC) is a common and complex procedure with low first-attempt success rates, causing patient suffering and increased healthcare costs. Quiet Eye (QE) training, a gaze-focused approach, has shown promise in improving procedural PIVC skills. We will examine the effectiveness of traditional technical training (TT) and QE training (QET) on student nurse PIVC performance.

Purpose: To investigate the correlation between intracellular dark endothelial spots (IDESs) detected by specular microscopy and the incidence of graft failure after Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK).
Methods: We reviewed 100 consecutive DMEK patients performed by a single surgeon at two centres between January 2015 and July 2022. Central corneal thickness was evaluated using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (SS-1000; Tomey, Aichi, Japan), and endothelial cell density was measured using specular microscopy.

The genus Mittleman, 1950, belonging to the family Scincidae, exhibits considerable morphological convergence, complicating species delimitation and resulting in underestimated diversity. Currently, 41 species are formally recognized in this genus, although this figure likely underestimates its true richness. In this study, a new species of the genus , , is described from urban and suburban areas of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, Southwest China.
