The efficient harvesting of triplet excitons is key to realizing high efficiency blue fluorescent organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) up-conversion is one of the effective triplet-harvesting strategies. However, during the TTA up-conversion process, a high current density is necessary due to the competitive non-radiative triplet losses.

Genetic encoding of noncanonical amino acids (ncAAs) with desired functionalities is an invaluable tool for the study of biological processes and the development of therapeutic drugs. However, existing ncAA incorporation strategies are rather time-consuming and have relatively low success rates. Here, we develop a virtual ncAA screener based on the analysis and modeling of the chemical properties of all reported ncAA substrates to virtually determine the recognition potential of candidate ncAAs.

Peste-des-petits-ruminants (PPR) is primarily a disease of small ruminants caused by peste-des-petits-ruminants virus (PPRV; , ), formerly the small ruminant morbillivirus. PPRV can cause significant morbidity and mortality in small ruminants and a significant economic impact. Conventional reverse-transcription PCR (RT-PCR), and probe-based and SYBR Green-based RT quantitative real-time PCR (RT-qPCR), are employed for the molecular detection of PPRV.

Polymeric room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials have been well developed and utilized in various fields. However, their fast thermo- and moisture-quenching behavior highly limit their applications in certain harsh environments. Therefore, the preparation of materials with thermo- and moisture-resistant phosphorescence is greatly attractive.

Loz1 is a zinc-responsive transcription factor in fission yeast that maintains cellular zinc homeostasis by repressing the expression of genes required for zinc uptake in high zinc conditions. Previous deletion analysis of Loz1 found a region containing two tandem CH zinc-fingers and an upstream "accessory domain" rich in histidine, lysine, and arginine residues to be sufficient for zinc-dependent DNA binding and gene repression. Here we report unexpected biophysical properties of this pair of seemingly classical CH zinc fingers.
