Relativistic Correction from the Four-Body Nonadiabatic Exponential Wave Function.

J Chem Theory Comput

Faculty of Chemistry, Adam Mickiewicz University, Uniwersytetu Poznańskiego 8, 61-614 Poznań, Poland.

We present a method for calculating the relativistic correction in hydrogen molecules that significantly exceeds the accuracy of all the previous literature results. This method utilizes the explicitly correlated nonadiabatic exponential wave function, and thus treats electrons and nuclei equivalently. The proposed method can be applied to any rovibrational state, including highly excited ones.

Quantum State-Dependent Fragmentation Dynamics of DS Molecules Following Excitation at Wavelengths ∼ 129.1 and ∼ 139.1 nm.

J Phys Chem A

September 2024

State Key Laboratory of Molecular Reaction Dynamics and Dalian Coherent Light Source, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dalian 116023, China.

The first high-resolution translational spectroscopy studies of D atom photoproducts following excitation to the Rydberg states of DS are reported. Excitation at wavelengths λ ∼ 139.1 nm reveals an unusual 'inverse' isotope effect; the B(3←2) Rydberg state of DS predissociates much faster than its counterpart in HS.

Rovibrational Line Lists of Triplet and Singlet Methylene.

J Phys Chem A

August 2024

Laboratory of Theoretical Spectroscopy, V.E. Zuev Institute of Atmospheric Optics SB RAS 1, Akademician Zuev Sq., Tomsk 634055, Russia.

The methylene molecule (CH) is a short-lived radical with lacking data on its spectral line intensities. Although the lifetime of CH is extremely short under Earth's conditions, it exists in a free form in interstellar media. CH is an important intermediate species in chemical reactions associated with the formation and destruction of complex hydrocarbons.

A nearly complete treatment of the effect of non-adiabaticity on rovibrational energies of H3+ (Part III).

J Chem Phys

August 2024

Theoretical Chemistry, Department of Chemistry and Biology, Siegen University, 57068 Siegen, Germany.

In this article, significant contributions of non-adiabaticity for the rovibrational bound states up to 25 000 cm-1 and total angular momentum J = 0-20 of H3+ are investigated. A coupled-perturbed full configuration interaction (CP-FCI) treatment is applied to calculate all couplings between electronic states caused by the nuclear motion. These derivative couplings were evaluated up to the second order by means of a perturbation treatment and include all nuclear Cartesian first and second derivatives of the electronic wavefunctions.

Isotope Effects on State-to-State Photodissociation Dynamics of DS in Its First Absorption Band.

J Phys Chem A

March 2024

Institute of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, Key Laboratory of Mesoscopic Chemistry, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China.

State-to-state photodissociation dynamics of DS in its first absorption band were explored by utilizing recently developed diabatic potential energy surfaces (PESs). Quantum dynamics calculations, involving the first two strongly coupled ″ states, were executed employing a Chebyshev real wavepacket method. The nonadiabatic channel via the conical intersection (CI) is facile, direct, and fast, leading to the production of rotationally and vibrationally cold SD(Π).
