Prolonged recovery time of neonatal sepsis leads to hospitalization, increased cost of treatments, antimicrobial resistance, disseminated intravascular coagulation, respiratory failure, septic shock, brain lesions, renal failure, and cardiovascular dysfunction, and eventually death.
