Differences in duration judgments made by younger and older adults were reviewed. Previous research is unclear about whether such differences exist and, if so, how they may be explained. The meta-analyses revealed substantial age-related differences. Older adults gave larger verbal estimates and made shorter productions of duration than did younger adults. There were no age-related differences in reproduction of duration or in psychophysical slope relating judged and target duration. Older adults' duration estimates were more variable than were those of younger ones. Findings are discussed in terms of pacemaker rate and attentional resources. An explanation regarding divided attention between nontemporal and temporal information processing best explains the findings.

Sleep disorders in children have a negative impact on mental and physical development, and a lack of sleep is one of the most important problems in infancy. At the age when naps are commonly accepted, the judgment of whether the amount of sleep is adequate has been based on the total amount of sleep per day. In other words, the idea is that even if the amount of sleep at night is insufficient, it is not considered insufficient if it is compensated for by taking a long nap or sleeping late on weekend mornings.

Deciphering whether and which mental processes are accessible for metacognitive judgments is a key question to understand higher cognitive functions. Paralleling the crucial role of reaction times (RT) for unraveling the temporal sequence of mental processes, a comparable chronometric approach can be employed at the second-order level through introspective reaction times (iRT) measures. Although mean iRT correlate with mean RT, suggesting good metacognitive abilities, this would not necessarily imply a direct readout of the duration of the underlying processes as participants may instead rely on inferences based on other salient, nontemporal, cues.

Background: Ramadan fasting is a religious observance practiced regularly by Muslims and may have an effect on sleep quality, especially for athletes. Our systematic review with meta-analysis aims to identify the effect of Ramadan observance on the sleep patterns of athletes and non-athletes during Ramadan fasting over the teen years (2014-2024).
Study Design: A systematic search of Scopus, Web of Science, and Pubmed, was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses.

Introduction: Laterality judgement evaluates the capacity to differentiate between the left and right sides of bodily parts. Cortical body representations are impaired in various musculoskeletal conditions, yet this remains unexplored in individuals with patellofemoral pain (PFP).
Objective: This study compared laterality judgement performance between individuals with PFP and asymptomatic controls.

Pandan ( Roxb.) are one of the traditional food materials in Southeast Asian countries. However, there has long been a lack of understanding of the differences in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of leaves at different growth periods.
