Background: The human eye consists of highly sensitive, hydrated, and relatively thin tissues, making precise control and accurate force estimation crucial in robotic eye surgery. This paper introduces a novel control method and state observer designed for a gripper surgical instrument used on the external ocular surface during robotic eye surgery.
Methods: A novel state observer, operating in tandem with the controller, estimates the applied force.

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of various tomographic indices, both established and novel, in predicting endothelial decompensation leading to either spontaneous corneal transplantation or transplantation following cataract surgery in patients with Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD).
Methods: In this cross-sectional, retrospective study, we reviewed the files of 93 eyes from 54 FECD patients undergoing regular follow-up. We recorded clinical metrics such as morning visual disturbance (MVD) and corrected distance visual acuity.

Aim: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and feasibility of superficial corneal opacities treated by excimer laser phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK) combined with small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE)-derived corneal stromal lenticule transplantation.
Methods: A retrospective interventional case series of nine patients aged 12-59y with superficial corneal opacity caused by different pathologies who underwent standardized PTK combined with SMILE-derived corneal stromal lenticule transplantation was examined. Lenticule patches were fixed with fibrin glue.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to compare the capacity of anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) and Scheimpflug camera in detecting tomographic changes over 1 year in a cohort of patients with Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy.
Methods: We conducted a single-center prospective study which consisted of 2 identical visits spaced 1 year apart. At each visit, tomographic analyses were performed using Scheimpflug imaging (Pentacam HR, Oculus) and swept source AS-OCT (Casia SS-1000 Tomey).

We report a case of acute angle closure secondary to pupillary block caused by a dislocated intraocular lens (IOL)-capsular tension ring (CTR) complex. A 68-year-old woman, who had undergone cataract surgery 28 months earlier, presented with acute right eye pain and blurred vision. Examination revealed elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) of 80 mmHg, corneal edema, and anterior chamber shallowing, with anterior displacement of the IOL-CTR complex observed on anterior-segment optical coherence tomography.
