Six synthetic peptides from immunodominant region 65-80 aa derived from the sequences of delta-antigen corresponding to 3 HDV genotypes were obtained. Their antigenic activities were assessed by indirect enzyme immunoassay with sera of patients with hepatitis D and of asymptomatic carriers of anti-delta antibodies. Differences in antigenic characteristics of full-size 65-80 and truncated 71-80 aa peptides corresponding to three HDV genotypes were revealed. The diagnostic significance of synthetic 65-80 aa fragments is shown.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the predominant form of lung cancer and poses a significant public health challenge. Early detection is crucial for improving patient outcomes, with serum biomarkers such as carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCCAg), and cytokeratin fragment 19 (CYFRA 21-1) playing a critical role in early screening and pathological classification of NSCLC. However, due to being mainly based on corresponding antibody binding reactions, existing detection technologies for these serum biomarkers have shortcomings such as complex operations, high false positive rates, and high costs.

Neuropeptide (abbreviated as ) is a recently discovered peptide that is present in many arthropods and is the ligand of the , a member of the G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) superfamily, which plays a regulatory role in diverse physiological processes such as feeding, circadian rhythm, insulin production, lipid metabolism, growth, and reproduction. However, the function of this gene in aphids is still unknown. Here, we characterized and determined the potential role of / signaling in the pea aphid, , which is a notorious pest in agriculture.

In recent years, there has been a growing number of adult orthodontic patients with periodontal disease. The progression of periodontal disease is well-linked to oxidative stress (OS). Nevertheless, the impact of OS on orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) is not fully clarified.

Endocannabinoids have been shown to play a complex role in the pathophysiology of a number of cardiovascular disorders. In the present study, the effects of the two major endocannabinoids anandamide (AEA) and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) were investigated in human coronary artery smooth muscle cells (HCASMC) and human coronary artery endothelial cells (HCAEC) with regard to potential atheroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects. In HCASMC, AEA showed an inhibitory effect on platelet-derived growth factor-induced migration, but not proliferation, independent of major cannabinoid-activatable receptors (CB, CB, TRPV1), while 2-AG left both responses unaffected.

Little brown bats () cluster in hibernacula sites over winter, in which they use metabolic rate depression (MRD) to facilitate entrance and exit of hibernation. This study used small RNA sequencing and bioinformatic analyses to identify differentially regulated microRNAs (miRNAs) and to predict their downstream effects on Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) terms in the skeletal muscle of torpid as compared to euthermic controls. We observed a subset of ten miRNAs whose expression changed during hibernation, with predicted functional roles linked to cell cycle processes, downregulation of protein degradation via ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis, downregulation of signaling pathways, including MAPK, p53, mTOR, and TGFβ, and downregulation of cytoskeletal and vesicle trafficking terms.
